Ballad or Uptempo?

One uptempo song like Little Miss Sorrow or Something In The System with great guitar riffs like from Opportunity Nox or Gimme Gimme Shock Treatment and one great dramatic ballad like Wish I Could Fly or Queen Of Rain. Hope that new songs will be classical Roxette with superb melodies and geat arrangies with modern sound. It means no disco, classical rock pop with modern sound. I would like to hear Marie as a lead singer with some parts with Per and chorus with both of them in uptempo song and Marie as a lead singer with symbolic support of Per in ballad. Hope that they will release both new songs as a single. That´s my wish...
And uptempo song should be first single, out in September, ballad song second single out before Christmas.

track 1 something like Real Sugar, How Do You Do etc with Per on verse and Marie on chorus, and then the last track being the ballad by Marie on lead, perhaps with Per on backing vocals...... One like Everyday would be excellent!!

i think it’s a natural, not so overproduced midtempo track. More ballad than uptempo.
ON is great! But the new one is more like “I like it like that”.

So they can start to say goodbye and retire with halo´s on their heads and they gain that credibility they always needed when some other british overestimated wanna-b´s stoled them.
Sleeping in my car sound alike would be great... i think is the most vibrating roxette´s song ever.
2° single... a power ballad... with a mature sound as the ones in Tourism album, for the sissy ones.

PS: I think this compilation..is a “retirement” release..... they should make this songs sound EPIC!, not modern, i said EPIC!!!!
Comeback to the mid 90´s... when you´ve found your own sound and we was happy with every sh*tty release every 3 months!

But I would be fine with a slow song as well - if it’s “slow” in terms of “Muse - Supermassive Black Hole” and not “Celine Dion - My Heart Will Go On” if you know what I mean.

i hope it is an uptempo beat. i don´t like ON too much but i think that a similar song (but longer, at least 4.39) with marie on the lead vocals would be just great.

ncurran, Opportunity Nox is great. Short and effective, rocky but with some electronic touches. The perfect balance.
SDLHA, not so bad but not a favourite either. It was the biggest flop Roxette ever released as a single. It doesn’t have anything to do with Roxette’s style. They are not a garage-rock band. Synthesizers were always very prominent in their music.

Room Service - SDLHA would have more success now I think. That type of music is VERY popular currently, more so than programmed music I think, especially here in the UK. If it was given the promo it deserved it would have a chance now. I love that song!!

A song like ON is not a good idea, because it was refused by many radiostations and in german airplaycharts Top 100 it peaked only at No. 63, after 25 (!) Roxette Top 20 Airplayhits here. It was one of only 3 Rox singles not reaching the Top 50. The 2 other Rox singles which peaked outside Top 50 Airplacharts were “Vulnerable” and “SDLHA”, also both sung by Per, so it seems the radio stations would prefer a more Marie orientated Rox song.

There are some sinlgles and albums charts from several countries all over the world, all year charts and more.

Now I’m looking for results from national airplay charts, but I haven’t been lucky so far
