The norwegian artist/songwriter, Hanne Sørvaag (who released Per “I Do Believe” under the artist name Paris), has written one of the songs in the American Idol finals this wedensday. The song is “My Destiny” to be sung by Katharine McPhee (21) during the finals, and to be released as single, and to be included on the finalist Idol album. - Norwegian article: http://www.vg.no/pub/vgart.hbs?artid=117164
Hanne currently lives in Stockholm, and works steady as songwriter for Universal. She has after the album debut for Sony in 2002, broken out of that contract, and started her own record company. She has her own new record ready, “Talk of the town”. And if all goes according to plans, it will be released in August. On her website one can listen to the 11 news songs, and see the video for two of the songs http://www.hannesorvaag.com - I’ve been fortunate enough to have a copy of this new album since november last year, and it’s good. A bit more low key than her debut album, but it’s still very good and cathy pop, more in the style of Mazarin perhaps. Hit warning for “Ivy”, “I don‘t feel a thing” , “Rain on your parade” and “Small things”.
