Israeli Marie solo promos, LOL!
Room_service said on May 16, 2006 03:37:
I found this in eBay. I could print promo “stickers” like those with my printer and made up some Argentinian promos too. I am not an expert, but I find this promos very unreal. Why should “Så länge det lyser mittemot” and “All About You” (that was hardly promoted even in Sweden, her homeland) be promoted in a country like Israel?
The stickers are just a glued piece of ordinary paper, with some Hebrew characters printed. I think this is all fake.

Urm they *might* actually be promo’s used in Isreal - but i doubt you have the knowledge of the Isreali music industry to make claims of fruad! And great news that you’ve got sucha fly printer...!
But we know now that Room Serive doesn’t ’get’ collecting (http://www2.dailyroxette.com/smalltalk/thread.php/15736?p=1) and seems to be out for attention or fights - that’s the only reason i can see why this person would take the effort to post such a topic!

I don’t get your point. I don’t mind anyway. As I never take your comments so seriously, you can say whatever you want. I am proud to say my life doesn’t turn around Roxette. I don’t know you much, but I can see you are too obsessed with this pop act. You should open your mind and realise there are more (and even better) things in life.
Anyway, I believe this is a fraud. Like the fake autographs someone posted days ago.

Yeap I call them as different issues but I don´t think that they are promos
per_mson said on May 16, 2006 21:25:
To call the whole thing a fraud I wouldn’t do, cause it can surely be that those singles really were used as promos in Israel as Purple also says. Israel was for instance the first country in the world where Ace Of Base’s first hit (All That She Wants) became number one, so that they do listen to Swedish music down there I know! :-) The seller also have almost 650 comments and most of them are positive, so another reason to believe they are no fakes.
But I still think it is really easy to make such a sticker and put on if you do want to fool people.

damn! you spoiled my new business!! I spotted those yesterday, I told Thomas I would start to print out stickers in CATALAN (even weirder than Israel or?) and stick them on normal singles and sell them :D:D
What will be next? swajili? :D:D:D

Room Service - Glad that you get the fact that you DON’T know me!! :)

It would be easier to believe in a Israeli promo of “The Centre Of The Heart” or “Wish I Could Fly” (for example), it makes more sense. But “All About You”? As long as I know “The Change” was not released in Israel. What’s the point in promoting a song that is not available at any store? I really like “All About Yor”, but it didn’t chart even in Sweden. Why on Earth it should be promoted in the Middle East? Very unlikely.
And a Swedish track like “Så länge det lyser...” being promoted in Israel is very unlikely too. I guess that’s the reason nobody bidded on those items (they have been for sale for a long time).
marcusvandeursen said on May 18, 2006 15:32:
how fake the stickers may be ...by buying such a stickered CD I did actually get hold of an actual CDPRO of ’All ABout You’ quite cheap compared to the prices they’ve gone for on tradera and ebay lately.
Room_service said on May 19, 2006 04:31:
Just to add a question:
I found a Taiwanese issue of “Den ständiga resan”. Is that real or just another bootleg?
I never know about Taiwanese issues. TBH, TPH, The Change and SOAP seem to be legal issues, but I don’t know about the earlier albums.
marcusvandeursen said on May 19, 2006 11:24:
Indeed 100% official.
Generally - as opposed to Japan which produces its own CDs locally - Taiwan imports Dutch or Swedish releases and re-packages them, with an additional Taiwan OBI-strip
per_mson said on May 19, 2006 19:25:
@sandyam: You should really buy robbans book! ;-)
@marcus: Great you found such a thing cheap! Those “All about you” on Tradera got waaay too high at least. But I would honestly pay a bit more for one without a sticker. :)

I NEED Robban’s book desperately... should contact him sometime!!!
marcusvandeursen said on May 19, 2006 20:22:
@per; that’s what i did in the end as well when robban had one up for sale withotu a sticker
@purp... check http://www.premiumpublishing.com/, they still sell it. By the way, did you get my last email?
purplemedusa said on May 19, 2006 20:36:
Marcus, I don’t recall getting a reply to my mail to you - please re-send it! ;)
And i much rather deal with Rob himself...!! :)

I Have an Israeli Magazine with Roxette on the cover circa 1995, so obviously Roxette are known over there. Realistically these are standard Singles with informational stickers sent out to radio stations and media outlets by some Israel branch of EMI.
They are not fakes, but not rare either, just curiosities.
Cheers
Dave

@per-mson
I do have The Look For Roxette and in fact I use it a lot too but I must admit that I haven’t quite read the whole book properly...
qrox said on May 21, 2006 15:45:
They are only the singles with a sticker. But a few months ago there was a WICF promo with that sticker. I bought it and it’s a real promo.
per_mson said on May 16, 2006 07:19:
Agree with you Room Service! Those promos are no promos. They are just the normal releases with a sticker on them. And as you say, such a sticker anyone can do. But I guess “earth” think they are different “issues”! ;-))
