Skeleton Key - excellent flick
Saw
Wolf Creek
Silent Hill - gorry, but not bad
I was a bit dissapointed with Saw II and Dark Water, but they’re ok.
40 Year old Virgin I did not like... imo great idea but movie was not good

The last movie I saw in the cinema was “The Lord of The rings: The Return of The King” so, as you can see, it was lot of time ago! And it’s not because I don’t enjoy going to the cinema, it’s because the nearest one is about 100 km from where I live.
I’m curious about Silent Hill, but I’m a bit afraid. I’m a big Silent Hill video-game’s fan and taking into accout what Hollywood did with other video-games (Tomb Raider, Resident Evil...) I’m almost sure that the film is not good.

Never ever watch a movie with Rob Schneider in it!
He received a price (razzy??) for the worst actor and he really deserves it!
Movies with him (don’t watch them):
The Animal
American Gigolo (or something like that)

Agree with Harriej about Rob Schneider.
Good movies that I’ve seen lately :
Silent Hill : Nice special effects, although in some part it was too violence.
Brokeback Mountain : No need explanation :)
V For Vendetta : Not the best one, but still worth to see.
The rest of the best : Harry Potter 4 and Narnia
The bad movie I’ve seen was Aeon Flux.

Someone has played Silent Hill video-game? I mean, someone knows about the game’s story? I wish the film was like the game. I haven’t seen it but I’m sure it has nothing to do with it, or only a few.
Now talking about good films I have seen, I really enjoyed “The Last Samurai”. Probably I’m the only one that has enjoyed that film, but I love Japanese history.
Yesterday night I saw on TV “I, robot” and I think it’s a good film.
And “Flight Plan” with Jodie Foster it’s excellent. She’s a wonderful actress.
Bad films I’ve seen:
“Rebirth” with Nicole Kidman.
“Timeline” or “how-to-destroy-a-fantastic-book”
“War of The Worlds” was really bad. Well, the book is not good...
Majdy said on April 24, 2006 20:30:
I haven’t played Silet Hill, but according to my husband (who is a Silent Hill’s fan), that the movie and the game are pretty much the same. He said that the film even using the same song as in the game, so he’s very satisfy with it.
So, I think you should see the movie, but just prepare with the “violence” scene, I myself has to close my eyes during those scene several times :). The movie not scary, it’s not something like will be on your mind when you all alone, but just a bit violence.

Debora, i loved The Last Samurai as well, a great movie with a really good story. I love anything with samurai/ninja, or chinese/japanese history.

Hello, this is MAJDY’s husband - for the Silent Hill fan!
First off, the story WAS changed, but it wasn’t changed in a bad way. Remember in the games, the world of Silent Hill is fluid and means different things to different people, so story changes could actually be okay in a SH movie.
What’s here: Alessa, Dahlia, Pyramid-head, and many of the monsters. Plus, the city is portrayed PICTURE PERFECTLY. The regular, foggy Silent Hill, and the “alternate” Silent Hill, complete with sirens, bloody corpses, fences, decay, everything.
I though this was a great movie and definately the best video-game/movie adaptation I’ve ever seen. The movie got poor reviews, but I think if you’re a fan you’ll enjoy it - I did. Silent Hill is my favorite video game! But my wife has never even SEEN the game, and she liked the movie as well.
Debora said on April 25, 2006 20:47:
@RobS
Nice to know that there is another person who enjoyed that movie! I think that probably many people didn’t like The Last Samurai because they don’t know much about the historical period in which the movie is set.
@Majdy’s husband
Well, your words give me a bit of hope about Silent Hill movie. If you like video-games you must already know why I’m a bit afraid about that film
Fog, alternate city, sirens, bloody corpses... Good! Tell me that Pyramid-head kill himself on the movie... cos they kill themselves on the game! Fortunatelly you can save the game before going inside that room. :)
Now it’s time Majdy plays the game, don’t you think so?

I saw Silent Hill, and I did not even know it was based on a Game... only found that out later. It’s an ok flick, I liked the ending the most. Ring was 10 time better though.
But was the game original, or was it based on comic book? Or was comic book based on the game?
I’m surprised that some people did not like Skeleton Key.... I loved that movie, and great ending i never expected.
davidc4 said on April 26, 2006 16:48:
SKELETON KEY WAS GOOD ALSO LIKED HARRY POTTER 4 AND SHES THE MAN
Debora said on April 26, 2006 20:15:
@Invisible Man
Silent Hill is an original video-game by Konami.
Debora said on April 28, 2006 20:14:
Do it! You will enjoy it! The first time I played SH I did in the night and with the lights off, darkness gives a special atmosphere to the game!
My favourite are SH and SH2. The third one is OK, and the last one... mmm... that room, I don’t like it very much. Anyway, it’s a good video-game saga.

I laughed at Benchwarmers. Mostly because I WANNA BE JON LOVITZ’S CHARACTER!!!!!!!!!!!
He’s the “nerd that grows up to have everything”.

Best lately was “JOYEUX NOËL”, which comes to mean “Merry Christmas” about some little spark of magic during the first winter of WWI, 1914.
It’s based on a true story, really special.
