Ace of Base, will who knows. I actually like(d) them a bit, got all their albums and stuff. The last time I checked their website, it wasn’t updated from November 2005 and it said that they were going back to the studios early 2006. I don’t think Linn is gonna make a re-appearance either. Which is a shame! Jenny is okay, but she’s a little bit squeaky!! They might be going on tour apparently with the new album (what a horrible thought! I take it you’ve heard them live - awful!!!), minus Linn.

Not much happening there. Here’s a link to a popular AOB message board: http://server5.dedicateduk.com/~ace/thb/

Last year in October, I saw them live at the Night of the Proms in Antwerp, Belgium.
They played a couple of songs and weren’t too bad. It was a bit strange that Jenny sang Linn’s parts as well ;)

Well she´s a bit shy and has some kind of (flying) phobia etc.
She´s really beautiful.

i got worried when on the flowers album linn was faded out on the fotos that was in 1998 fast forward to 2002 and the Da Capo album and yet again she is but a blur on some pics.so what for 2006?i think the fans have vanished as well by the look of it lol
ThePopHits said on April 26, 2006 19:15:
I suppose they´re still popular in Germany and South American countries.

I like her so much.
“In promotional pictures and videos, Linn’s image was purposely blurred.”

cheers for that link it helped explain a fair bit.i just wish she would get a grip

I like alot of their early nineties songs. After about 95 they dropped off the charts here in Australia. So we never knew about the whole Linn thing. Sad to hear that she doesn’t like the spotlight anymore.
tavo said on May 3, 2006 15:01:
i love linn, too. and in some way i understand her too. you know, she´s scorpio and so am i. we like mystery, we are mysterious people and i think that linn only wants to catch people´s attention. anyway, i preferred those days in which she caught my attention through her song performances. if you stop to think about it for a while, all of ace of base´s greatest hits were performed by her mainly: all that she wants, the sign, don´t turn around, beautiful life and also never gonna say i´m sorry (which wasn´t a hit-single but it´s my all-time favorite).

@david: thanx a lot for this information. i didn´t know they did so well in england. maybe that´s because they did more promotion in european countries. here in (latin) america, it was different, which is sad because i love them. i wish i lived in your country in order to go to any music store, find an aob album (such as singles of the 90´s) and buy it. just like that.
davidc4 said on May 4, 2006 15:21:
its hard to find their albums now or at least harder than it was.there is a crap album called Collection for a few quid that seems to b the only one they stock unless u order them
pwbbounce (moderator) said on May 19, 2006 13:56:
Found some live tracks last night. What the hell?? They are terrible. One was Que Sera from The Bridge. Awful, The def hit more off notes and on!
pwbbounce (moderator) said on August 23, 2006 07:33:
Ha found it - just checked their website. Hasn’t been updated still since last year. Don’t think we’re gonna hear from them again any time soon, if ever. :-((

I like only a few songs by them. I have to say their albums are, except 2 or 3 strong tracks, 90% fillers. And lyrically, they leave a lot to be desired. For some reason they sound too “plastic” and “comercial” for me. Well, Roxette was commercial in some way too, but AOB was really a cheap product. Just look at the artwork of their early albums, they are really amateurish.

The line ’not a day for working, a day for catching tan’ is a line I still think of when the sun is out and I am at work.
Of the hundreds of artists I knew of as a teenager, Ace of Base will always mean something to me even though they’re 15 minutes of fame was very short in Australia.
whateveriam said on August 29, 2006 12:12:
How long were they successful in the UK, can’t remember really?
davidc4 said on August 29, 2006 12:49:
in UK they released singles from 1993 - 1999
they are supposed to be recording a new album...........they were never quick with this sort of thing.
whateveriam said on August 29, 2006 12:51:
Only ever liked a couple of songs really, so probably won’t be getting any new albums in a hurry. Will happily listen to it though as background
