Original versions of "Min bäste vän" songs

Well, I have to admit I am not very exciting about this album (should I say I am disappointed?). But anyway, I think it would be a nice idea if we look for and share previous versions of the songs, just to have an idea or “preview”, because they are almost unknown for us.
All I have for now is “Complainte Pour Ste. Catherine”, by British singer Kirsty MacColl. It will in Swedish under the title Ingen kommer udan politiken.
Should we post links here? Or share via email? Let me know.

Well, to be fair she ALWAYS gets a lot of attention for about two months every year.

Aftonfalken was recorded by Karin Glenmark in the mid-1980s. She and her brother, Anders, formed Gemini - the brainchild of ABBA’s Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus, who also wrote most of the songs for the duo’s 2 original albums. Anders later found fame in G.E.S. and wrote/produced former ABBA star Frida’s 1996 solo album ’Djupa andetag’.
Gemini released a ’best of’ album last year which featured 2 new recordings.
As for Aftonfalken, it’s a strange song - It has an almost medieval feel to it (at least on Karin’s recording). Not exactly hit-single material. I’m hoping that Marie’s version will be more interesting!

I must say, that i’m very curious how Marie will change them :)

Guldgruva it´s a very strange Song.
I think Marie sings like how the Original. Not many change.

For some reason I can’t download the songs!
I got this horrible message:

The following error was encountered:

I never got that before. What’s wrong?

I finally got the songs. My god... Let me say I don’t like them at all. Sound so old-fashioned!
Why, Marie, why???

bingo! they are from the 60ies / 70ies? how should they sound like? hip hop? :D
I think I will love it, I hope Staffan gets to play those guitars (solos) *droooool*

Let me say some stuff (like Carpenters) was originally released in the late 60’s and early 70’s but it doesn’t sound old-fashioned at all. The problem is this folky songs are rather boring. I don’t know they would improve with a new arrangement...
When Agnetha’s album was announced I was not very excited. I feel the same now.

OMG people do love to complain. We almost lost Marie completely so let’s whine about her new album. I don’t know if I’ll like it, I wasn’t that crazy about The Change but I was just so happy to have her back. If this album isn’t my taste, I’ll put it on the shelf and still be glad to have had something new from her and that she’s still ALIVE.
Someone may need to put a muzzle on Tev when it’s review time though.... ;)

Marie is just paying tribute to her musical roots, remade her way, much like k.d. lang did with her “Songs From The 49th Parallel”. She took old classics and made them sound new! So who knows, maybe Marie will do the same...
One remake I’ve enjoyed in recent years is “Mad World” by Gary Jules, who took the original Tears For Fears tune and made it his own...
