Cardigans - Super Extra Gravity

I just bought this album a week ago and I can’t stop playing it (it just came out in Canada... about six months late!). I loved, loved, loved the last one (“Long Gone Before Daylight”) but given that I hated, hated, hated the one before that (“Gran Turismo”) I wasn’t holding my breath on this one. But they’ve managed to do it again... the album is fantastic. It’s the up-tempo ones that are best on this one (“Godspell,” “I Need Some Fine Wine...” and the Roxette-ish “Good Morning Joan) but the ballads are quite good too (opener “Losing a Friend” builds to a wonderful crescendo and second single “Don’t Blame Your Daughter (Diamonds)” is also very good).
Anyone else got it? What do you think?

I got it right away in the fall..
I like it alright... Yeah, a few annoying fillers (can’t even recall the titles) but just like you said Godspell, Don’t Blame..., Losing a friend are great!

Why??

@ThePopHits: Can’t articulate it really... it just sounds like dull noise to me. Weak melodies... “My Favourite Game” is fantastic (and the reason I bought the album, after “LGBD”) but the rest just bugs me somehow. Believe me, I’ve tried to find something good about this album, but...

“Explode” is great! But not the slowish album version...The one they did on tour a couple of years ago was fantastic. Saw them at some festival.

I must be enitely honest - Nikos & myself bought this album, gave it a couple of listens and tossed it at the back of that closet... really didn’t do Jack for any of us; prefered their previous albums!
