TDR 'Official' fan club?

So now that the Official Roxette fan club has called it a day, what’s the chances of TDR taking up ’Official’ status?
I’ve been a member here for about a year I guess, but not been particularly active, so I may have missed other comments/suggestions along these lines.

Thanks to God....we don´t want censors on the new Fanclub.

That’s cool, was more of a question to get an insight into what others were thinking about the Official site shutting down.
From a fans perspective (my own anyway) I don’t see a lot of difference between ’Official’ fan sites and many ’Unofficial’ fan sites in terms of content, news etc, but I’d guess there would be a whole lot more to consider on the administration side of things.
Seems to me that TDR is chugging along quite nicely without the extra burden

I don’t think any of us wants to (or more like doesn’t have the time to) get involved in a Fanclub, we like it to update the news here (and soap.com), and this already takes its time.. it would not be fair for anybody if we’d say we take over the FC with all what it involves (fanshop, reviews and alike)...
I run the Spanish Fanclub together with 2 other friends and that’s enough, and we don’t even have a review or shop.. just organise stuff from time to time..
I don’t want to be negative but I really doubt there is anybody out there responsible enough to run a fanclub.. who has the time for it. People have jobs, or are finishing studies, start to get married, get children..
Ah well, good luck to those who “applied” for the FC, you’ll need it :D

I wasn’t suggesting that TDR should apply for ’Official’ status, just wondered if it had been considered.
I’m sure there will be a lot of people who used the official fan site looking for alternatives.
I can understand the workload issue, I recently started an unnoficial ste for LeAnn Rimes which takes some doing just trying to keep up with news stories, so I applaud all at TDR for being so up to the minute with all news relating to Roxette.

just explaining because you are not the only one wondering :)
Thanks for your words!!

For being a “journalist” you aren’t very smart are you? There is not another more censored Roxette site in the world than roxette.nl.
filfish said on March 10, 2006 12:11:
tevensso - you’ve kinda lost me now! where was censorship mentioned? I was merely inquiring as to TDR’s (and it’s members) views on the subject of official status, for which Judith has made clear the general thinking of the TDR team quite satisfactorily.
As for being a ’Journalist’, no, not really, I merely redirect current news feeds (generally via RSS feeds) and don’t write the stories personally, so I think your comments are a little out of line as you know nothing about me.

@filfish, No sorry, wasn’t refering to you. :) It was Polycarbonato that said that TDR is a very censored site.

MODERATED
Not censored.
Get it right.
I know I’ve had some of my posts smacked down, doesn’t bother me in the least. I’ve had more go through that if this site WAS censored... I would have been BANNED by now.

@ tevensso - sorry about the long delay in reply, no worries, was my missunderstanding. should learn to read back through the entire post

We aren’t interested in becoming more official, so I’d say the chances are slim to none.
