Roxette #60 in charts

Hi guys,
A Spanish friend of mine has informed me that Roxette are currently #60 in the Spanish charts with Baladas. The reason? EMI Spain have reduced the price of the album to just 5 €. It’s only available at this special price in Carrefour; most shops charge 21 €.

Now’s the time to buy a spare copy!

lol

Carrefour...good place. Anyway, while being in Canary Islands, I noticed the CDs were overall rather cheap.

5 €! What a shame.
I love that album but people says lyrics are silly.

The lyrics of the ballads are silly? Really?
The ’pop hits’ have sillier lyrics, imo.

@ animalkingdom
...we’re not talking ’ballads’, we’re talking Baladas en Español

:-)

The lyrics are daft, to Spanish people they must sound crazy!

Ooh... Sorry! Been misreading things the whole day.

Here is the link to the official spanish albums list (Adobe pdf):

Baladas en Español reached double platinum, that is more than 160.000 copies sold

5 EURO for a NEW copy? that sounds great! can it be purchased online from this store?

This week Baladas en Español climbs up to #53... let’s see if it can enter the top 50 next week.

Well, all the fuss made about the crummy translations clearly doesn’t worry the native Spanish speakers too much!

Zargo i always thought that. can be that bad. or so many spanish speaking people wouldnt of bought it lol.

@rox-kuryliw:

The point is many people don’t remember or don’t understand English. So, they can’t compare the original lyrics when the translations and realise how bad they are.

For the non-Roxette fans, the Spanish lyrics are ok, or more or less acceptable. But we (who know the real meaning of the original lyrics written by Per) have a different point of view.

By the way, I have a friend from Spain (he lives in Barcelona, to be more exact) and he’s coming here in late March. I’d appreciate if some fan from that city can let me know what Roxette stuff is available there (at “El Corte Inglés” or other stores). Even the common albums, because some of my CD’s are slightly old and neeed a replacement.

Thank you.
