if you were in a rock band........what song(s) from roxette would you cover?? it is very expensive to cover a song(copyrights and all) so we’ll narrow it down to 3 to 5 rox.......or even gyllene tider songs....you would cover? hmmm......i’m daydreaming about being a rock star again............
i’d pick....
1. crash,boom,bang
2. milk and toast and honey
3. you don’t understand me
4. fading like a flower
5. det over nu
damn, that’s harder than i thought.......so many good songs to chose from....#4 would rock..i could play my ricky 360!!!
cheers to everyone!!!!

No, it’s not.

if you’re gonna be cheap about it don’t cover singles :)
1.) crush: i’d do it the way they do it live with that nice rock guitar line and all energetic like marie
2.) spending my time....stripped down does wonders for this song ...too much production kills it
3.) breathe....remove the synths and use full orchestration with it
4.) the rain: it sounded a bit old even when it came out so I’d give it a nice fresh production move effective vocals and a bit heavier guitar...and the same intro they gave it live

My band and I have a pretty diverse repertoire, so at a gig in April, we’re doing:
1. Coin-Operated Boy (Originally performed by the Dresden Dolls)
2. Salty Dog (by Flogging Molly)
3. Blackbird (by The Beatles)
and... drum roll please...
4. I Have A Party In My Head (I Hope It Never Ends), as performed by Son Of A Plumber :)
Outside of the band, I sing a lot of classical (or, to be more specific, baroque) pieces. In the band, however, I can just have fun, so I’m playing the recorder (instead of those panpipes) on Party In My Head, as well as singing the first verse and Helena’s little “laaa na-na” bit in the middle 8, before the last verse.
So there.
;-)

@ Vix
I’m not a skilled drummer by any stretch of the imagination, but I can hold a steady beat... So far, that is:
I’ve only played the kit about 11 times, each being 10 minute slots. You should give it a go :)

- She doesn’t live here anymore
- Det är över nu
- Jefferson
- Spending my time
- Det är blommor...
Any of those song would fit perfectly because all sounds quite similar to my music (influences...).

With no doubt... “CRAZY ABOUT YOU” :DDD
Maybe also “Small talk” and “Keep me waiting”. I wouldn’t cover very well known super hits, what’s the point in that?
I’d like my fans to know wonderful songs of Roxette that they didn’t have the chance to listen to before because they’re not uncluded in the 11 GH compilations Roxette will have done when I finally have a band! :DD
If you give them an unknown song and they like it, they’ll find their way to all the rest of the wonderful musical world of Gessle.
