Maybe someone’s interested in this item:
(url removed)

After edit:
The auction was cancelled since this item is a bootleg, so here’s the description.

Room Service Limited Edition (bootleg).
Price: USD 12 + shipping.
The CD is used. The booklet is a little wore out where it folds and the CD has a few scratches but It plays perfectly.
It has a “one-folded-page” booklet (something like Look Sharp! booklet).
The CD includes the original Room Service tracks + 8 Extra tracks (I can’t remember them now, I’ll post them later).
I have pics if you are interested.

Any question? Please contact me to [email protected].

After edit 2: It has been sold!

That bootleg is rather crappy. What’s the point of having all those tracks on a bootleg if they were released officially?

I have seen it for sale in some stores, but didn’t bother in buying that.

I really like this bootleg, it has a nice presentation.

I suppose you don’t buy the GH albums or the different editions of each album (digipack, jewellcase, etc). Well, I do, and a lot of other fans do. I don’t care if I already have the tracks, I don’t buy it to listen to it, I buy it because I’m a collector and it’s one of the few bootlegs that has a non-standard booklet.

You buy it because you are a money-waster... The person that made this bootleg was not very creative. Old tracks along a new album doesn’t make much sense.

@Room Service: No he buys the different releases because he is a collector. Will you ever get that such people exist and that they enjoy that hobby?? I don’t know you, but I am more than sure that you are “wasting” money on something else instead. I, for instance, don’t smoke... I “waste” my money on other stuff instead... Stuff that I in many cases can get more money back for than what I paid. So if one see it like that it is no waste.
Without collectors many museums in this world wouldn’t even exist. Think of how much culture the world would be without then.

I gotta say I agree with Room Service on this one. It’s a bootleg, not an official album, so the collector’s value ought to be real low.

Sure you can collect bootlegs, but if it’s just the album and some bonus tracks you already have (several times, probably). Then what’s the point?

It’d be like getting your own vinyl press and start making coloured vinyls of all kinds of stuff and expect them to sell for K’s of cash.

The fact it is a bootleg makes it more valuable. There are millons of official Room Service CDs. How many Room Service Bootleg (particulary this bootleg) are there? I don’t think there are more than a few hundred, maybe less.
A collector is a collector because he/she collects. It doesn’t matter if it it official or not. If htis bootleg had only the original Room Service tracks (without any extra track), I would have bought it anyway, I don’t care about the extra tracks. They make it a little more rare (since there are not many album bootlegs with extra tracks), but that doesn’t mean that it worths to buy the CD only because of those extra tracks.

Do you know how many HAND bootlegs are? There a lots of different horrible bootlegs with low quality and without a booklet!!! I collect those too (I have none, though :( ) just because they are different, you can’t buy them anywhere, you don’t find them in the record stores. That makes them rare.

It’s OK if you don’t buy them, the post wasn’t meant to you, it was meant for those who think like me (aka “money wasters”) that enjoy buying stuff they already have.

And the point of collecting cheap bootlegs of ordinary albums are... ?

Anyway, if you wanna collect pirated cd’s from the black market. Then do so.
But you do know it’s a crime to try and sell them on Ebay, right?

Oh yeah, I almost forgot. Your auction has been reported...

Strest... before you get your knickers in a knot; that is a valid auction and he never mentioned that it was original ... I don’t see any crime in that!!

Q hope that you do well in your auction!!

It’s not a valid auction, he’s trying to sell a bootleg.
This record has never been released by EMI / Jimmy Fun Music who owns the rights to the music.

“Counterfeits, unauthorized replicas, unauthorized items (such as counterfeit watches, handbags, or other accessories) or unauthorized copies (such as copies of software programs, video games, music albums, movies, television programs, or photographs) are not permitted on eBay. Unauthorized copies include (but are not limited to) copies that are pirated, duplicated, backed-up or bootlegged. It is illegal to sell unauthorized copies of media.

Guideline: If the product you are selling bears the name or logo of a company, but it wasn’t made or endorsed by that company, don’t list it on eBay.

Violations of this policy may result in a range of actions, including:

*Listing cancellation
*Limits on account privileges
*Account suspension
*Forfeit of eBay fees on cancelled listings
*Loss of PowerSeller status

Some Examples

The following are examples of items that may not be listed on eBay:

*Pirated copies of music
*”Bootleg” recordings of live music performances

*CD-Rs containing scanned pages from a book, magazine, manual or other copyrighted written materials that were not written by you”

*true*

He clearly states that this IS a bootleg... he’s not out to cheat anyone! It is also marketed at collectors who’s interested in bootlegs... I’ve seen numerous bootlegs on EBay that HAD been sold & done pretty well! come on... give this guy a chance!!

@ purlpemedusa
You are totally right about the fact that bootlegs have been sold on Ebay before but strictly you are not allowed to sell bootlegs there.
You can check it among the Ebay rules.
But, I surely don’t mind and I really hope that qrox will sell it well. I know this seller does not intend to fool and mislead people. I have dealt with him before in great confidence.
So, it’s a shame that someone felt the need to report. Was it that neccesary?

Yeah where’s the consideration for fellow fans?

I don’t mind when people try to sell “real” bootlegs, concerts (and demo collections).

But I don’t like it when they try to make money from greatest hits/album-bootlegs. It’s not like he’s giving it away for free.

Edit: Fellow fans shouldn’t support the black market by buying bootlegs of Room Service.

Edit2: And if you wanna sell bootlegs an auction site is not the place for it (even if you clearly state it’s a bootleg).

Just because it’s not part of your moral agenda doesn’t mean that there’s other people who’d be interested! You could have left the argument but instead you choose to enforce your morals on others... that’s what i call inconsiderate!

FFS, this has got nothing to do with morals.

He’s
a) breaking the law. This is something he could get sued over or spend time in jail.
b) breaking the rules of Ebay. Rules which he agreed upon when he put it out for sale.

Urm you don’t get it? It’s fine - i don’t see any hope for you!!

I’d rather say it’s you who don’t get it.

You claim this is a valid auction and that he’s commiting no crime.
You´re wrong in both instances.
It’s not allowed at Ebay, and he’s commiting a crime.

It looks like the people at Ebay didn’t get it either since it’s been removed now...

Yeah i believe it was a valid as any other bootleg sold on EBAY!

Well done buddy!! Three cheers for you!! Great of you helping other fans!!

It’s as valid as any other bootleg on Ebay = Not at all.

And yes, I did help the fans.
If you’re a fan you should support the artist by buying the real deal and not some enhanced bootleg.

And wtf are you trying to claim that I don’t help the fans when you come to the aid of people trying to overprice their items?!

Stop annoying me and go make some bootlegs to sell to the fans.

Well, It was canceled... It’s true it’s illegal to sell that stuff on eBay (I didn’t know that, I searched for bootlegs and found lots of them).

I find it very funny the fact that someone who wasn’t interested in the auction, knew it was cancelled even before I did...

Anyhow, it’s ok if eBay doesn’t want that CD listed, I don’t have any problem with that. I can sell it here in this forum (I asked the moderators), so, if anyone’s interested, please contact me.

btw, thanks for the support guys!

Hope u have better luck this time Q!!

Strest - let me clear this up; I don’t sell bootlegs & don’t plan to anytime soon! Secondly, some of those records does appear to be less common these days. It’s up to the fans to decide whether they want to buy it or not.

BTW. U might want to do something with you attitude problem so that we can debate like grown-ups in the future!

“It’s true it’s illegal to sell that stuff on eBay (I didn’t know that, I searched for bootlegs and found lots of them)”

That’s the problem of Ebay. And it’s an even bigger problem since most people call their bootlegs Chinese original R0.

To be fair you did say yours was a bootleg but I still don’t want to see any bootlegs whatsoever at Ebay.

Music is rather unaffcted but it’s virtually hopeless to buy DVD’s at Ebay due to all piracy.

Of course I knew about it, I reported it, I had it on auto-update to see how long it takes before they remove the auction.

Strest. You are a little pathetic. Cds like that have their uses - I know I’bve been listening to a cd and wished to have some extra songs on it. What is your problem? I dont care if you dont want to see bootlegs - I DO.

Oh - you might want to start reporting every promo single you find as technically they are not for resale, in fact most products arent meant to be resold - they all say so on the packaging. And if you care so much about authentic products and protecting profits of those that create them - BUY IT NEW instead of moaning on behalf of those that arent even following you - such as me -

I don’t really understand what you’re trying to say, but I bought my copy of Room Service the day it was released.
If it’s still available in stores I usually get my records from there.
If it’s not I, obviously, try to find it second hand.

Ebay doesn’t allow bootlegs and close loads and loads of that kind of auctions.
If you want to sell a bootleg, Ebay (or Tradera or whatever) is NOT the place to sell it at.

And someone buying a bootleg in the full knowledge of it harms you how?

And how does it harm Room serivce - having some of Roxettes greatest hits on it - filling up the cd space and making bathtime in less need of cd switching!

It doesn’t harm me whatsoever, but then again I don’t get a single penny from the sales of Room Service.

Also it doesn’t harm Room Service by having 8 extra tracks added to it. If I wanted to I could fix that as well on my PC for the total cost of about $.10 (since I already own the album and the other tracks).

Everyone who buys DVD’s when they’re in Thailand, China etc knows perfectly well they’re buying bootlegs.
What’s the harm in that?

The harm is that you support the black market by buying bootlegs and you choose not to support the producers and director and actors in the movie (this goes for CD’s as well).

I couldn’t care less if people choose to download the cd’s and dvd’s instead of buying it. That’s their choice.
But if you pay money for something it should obviously benefit those who release it and not the Russian mafia and others who mass produces pirated copies of games, movies and music.

Edit:
This is a perfect example of what I’m talking about.

http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-Apple-iPod-Video-30gb-and-6000-songs-WHITE-photo...

In case the auction gets deleted it’s an iPod 30 GB, but it’s not just any iPod, it’s an iPod with “6,000 SONGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Loaded with songs of artist/albums you get with this iPod:”

And then there’s a long long list with albums you get with the iPod.

Well, people clearly realise it’s bootlegs, so I suppose there’s no harm done if you buy iPods from him, right?

Great business plan. Buy iPods. Transfer 6,000 songs to it. Sell it for a higher price.
