I rememeber eary the 90:
ROXETTE
Guns N‘Roses
Michael Jackson
Take That I think
Madonna
Roxette was with every singel in the Top 5.
I remember that Almost unreal hit to number 1.!!!
This were great times always hoped that roxette will be played in this special chart show.
Nowadays MTV we all know which kind of music they played.
Very sad!

Yeah, I also used to watch this show on MTV. It was really great times. And even I was so excited as regard the Roxette Charts position.
I remember “How Do You Do!”. I have been in Holland at that time and I was watching MTV and I saw the amazing video for the very first time ! Oh my God, I was so surpriced ! :-)
Later I saw the video for “Queen Of Rain” @ Dial MTV and I still know that I was crying like a little boy because I was so touched about the video. Both look breathtaking beautiful in the video ! :-) yummie ! uhm ? ;-)
So now I am always wondering why MTV changed so much. I am always thinking it’s people’s fault, because they wanna see what MTV is playing for them. There is almost no really good show such as Ray Cokes or Coca Cola Report or Greatest Hits on MTV anymore. Really miss that time ! But yes, time is changing. I just shouldn’t look back, uhm ? :-/

Awww... You just brought me back to my favorite memories...
Back then, we could only watch pieces of MTV shows given by our national TV. It was Awake On The Wild Side with Paul King (my fav), Braun Top 20, Cill Out Zone (was too late) and every workday evening - Dial MTV. It was when I became fan in 1991 that they started playing Fading Like A Flower and I would cry of happiness every day for being able to watch the video (cause I couldn’t watch Rox videos so often...) They were usually ’fighting’ with KLF-Last Train To Trancentral and although I really liked their songs, for those 30 minutes, I would hate them! :)) Ah, how many times I wished I could call and vote. Did anyone?

I started watching MTV when SIMC came out in order to catch the video.
I remember songs like Fireworks & Run to You charting on the Dial top 5 for many times :)

This used to be MTV Europe, when all of Europe watched the one and same MTV. Kind of lost the point with it with separate MTVs I think.

have u noticed the amount of actual music played on MTV these days? ;)
tevensso (moderator) said on February 6, 2006 17:33:
Yes! NONE! I thought it was called MUSIC TV?
MTV Nordic has music maybe one or max two hours a day. The rest of the day is filled with Pimp my ride, or Newlyweds or Jackass...

I haven’t watched MTV for years, but few weeks ago, I did try then it’s all about reality shows, which I don’t find interesting anyway.

I am having 2 different MTVs at home. One is from Berlin I think and one is from the UK which is alright since they are playing music video and not those tv reality shows. But actually I do not watch MTV that often. I prefer VH-1. There is always Roxette with The Look or Joyride. :-)))

I remember the early 90s too, I watched MTV too and I recorded a lot of videos on videorecorder. I have it till up to the present day. These videotapes are a beautiful memories today. They played a lot of good music. In that time music was better and more quality than now. It was a really great time!!!
@Christian: I must add Queen.

I remember that Fireworks used to be for quite some time in the DIAL Top 5.
Presented by Rebecca De Ruvo.

I liked 3 from 1 on MTV. Every day I watched if they won´t play Roxette or Queen. Later I watched VH 1 too.

MTV UK is the worst!! The only thing I sometimes which is TRL, but I usually start the “channel flicking” at VH1. They play more music! But I remember the old days of a Roxette MTV Weekend. There was one in June 1994 which I still have taped on a couple of VHS’ somewhere. *Must try and dig them out* I think someone called Ingo was the presenter. He was mentioned in a Rox review (possibly #25 - God I need to get a life!!!) that he was a big Rox fan.
harriej said on February 10, 2006 21:59:
yes, I remember that MTV weekend in 1994.
I have been taping all weekend.
I drove my parents mad, because I was watching TV all weekend long and I didn’t allow them to switch the channel.
It was in the time that I was the most fanatic with
adoring Roxette. I still love them, but i do have a life next to Roxette.

I also remember the Roxette Weekend in 1993. The UNplugged thing was new. I wanted to record the whole weekend, but I couldn’t because we went on holidays. :-/ I was soooo sad !
And I also remember the weekend 1994 with the great “C!B!B!” special with Steve Blame. Also the first time watching the video clip “Neverending Love” in a very good quality.. ;-)) hahaha

Hi,
I can remeber that How do you do was very long at the top on this Dial MTV thing. I think it was always changing with It used to be my playground by Madonna. I was excited (do you geht excited?) to see every week, what happened there.
It was a great time.
Cheers
