how do you keep your rarities???

I was wondering if somebody here has any kind of display to keep rare stuff. I don’t have a lot of rare stuff but I think, for instance, that a picture disc should be on display and not in a drawer...

I have one of those for CD’s, I used to hang my paper sleeve cd’s but it looks quite cheap... I was doing a research on the net and I have found LP frames with either silver, gold or black edges, very cool... now I shall see if I can find the same thing in Italy or at least in Europe.
Edit: hey there’s a lot on Ebay, for example:

Mmmm quite expensive though!
Mmmm2 Maybe this should be off-topic????

Used to satrt the same as frisso, but stopped. Don’t know why, but now everything has its place and that’s it.... Should start with it again....

@frisso do you mean a piece of furniture with glass doors to display your collection?

@roxlad: Nice, but rather expensive frame you found there. :)
Wouldn’t like to put up my “rarities” on the wall though.. they get easily sun bleached if they are hanging up in the light all the time and that would be a bit sad! :-/

@Per well I suppose you’re right, I’ll have to think of something else...

roxlad: yes but there is no glass. but i keep my collection in the bedroom because i smoke but not in the bedroom this way it’s save. because i have collectibles i don’t want them to damage of course because it cost me a lot of money all together

Yep, smoke really gets on cd’s and vinyls, I once bought a 7” record from smb who smoked and it still stinks!!!! You do right to keep your goodies separate!

I’ve always had trouble keeping my cd-singles in a decent quality ... (as my south African CBB singles got totally ruined from wear)... so a while back I saw some CD-R’s forsale in papersleeves but neatly placed into a plasic jewelcase (about 5 cm deep)... bought a whole bunch of these CD-R cd’s and it’s a perfect home for all the paper sleeve CD singles!! Thank god - it one less thing to complain about!!! LOL

@Malin ....leaning on nails????
@Purple, I keep my few (only essential ones) papersleeve CD’s out of their sleeves in a cd wallet which is more handy when you need to play them. The empty sleeves are protected with hard PVC one by one!

Well I never ever played the singles and when I moved to this shoebox they just gathered dust on the bottom of a bookcase, so I sold them all... I only keep the regular CD’s now, its good enough for me!

Actually I have been thinking to get one of those ’plastic curtains’ whihc recorddealers have at fairs in which you can hang your LP’s...but i havent found a place to buy them at yet :S
