Secrets

Some people can take secrets to their grave, while others feel the urge to publish it for all to see. Which are you?

If someone swears me to never tell, and to take it to my grave, usually I do. It depends on if someone’s well being / mental health hinges on what information I get.

Yeah i can understand that spooky but you know i still couldn’t share the secret even in that scenario. I would feel like i’m betraying the holder of the secret you know.. Even if telling is the right thing to do :S

if i ever promise you anything, then i guaruntee you it is for real. if I promise I won’t tell, then I won’t.
although, sometimes i think it is selfish keeping things to your grave. i guess it depends what the secret is, and what the speculations are

To the grave. If someone trust in you you can’t betray that person.

... I have been known to keep secrets (only the boring ones I might add!)
Nah seriously, it all depends how serious the secret is -> but if it’s a nice piece of saucy gossip I can’t resist the temptation...!! LOL!
*see how the nice TDRpeople line up to tell me secrets now*

Tibbs: It’s not just “saving a life”, for me, it would really depend on a lot of things. If someone swore me never to tell that they’d murdered someone, or raped someone, or abused someone... damn skippy I’d seek out the law.
If it was something rather “piddly”, that’s something else.
TinyBubbles said on January 12, 2006 13:32:
Ooooooh god. Difficult one. If a family member or a close friend told me they had raped someone i still dont know if i’d betray their trust. I know what the right thing to do is. To seek out the law as you say. I’m not saying i’m right. i’m probably totally wrong. I mean if someone does something that horrible and you know about it surely it is your duty to society to bring them to justice. But then to some extent i’d feel i’ve also got a duty towards the person telling me the secret. And till it happens to me i honestly cant say what i’d do. But it would be very hard for me to betray a family member or close friend who trusts me. I think in my case i’d try my best to convince them to give themselve up and seek psychiatric help. And at the same time i’d need help myself cuz knowing something like that would kill me inside. So yeah i dunno. Difficult one.

Well I have read somewhere that if you really want to keep a secret then tell no one!
Come to think of it if you tell your secret to someone can you still call it a secret?
Christabel said on January 15, 2006 13:07:
my secrets are mine, not that i have so many :p

I can be a bit of both depends on what the secret is!
