What do you predict in '06?

I predict...
February: New Roxette compilation released in the US. The compilation will be made available worldwide, but with nothing new, fans will see it as an attempt to milk them for all they’re worth and spend hours moaning on TDR about how greedy Per and EMI are.
March: A single from the by-then fizzling SoaP project will become a surprise hit in Sweden. EMI will capitalize on the unexpected success by releasing a Gessle “Best of.” The bilingual collection will enjoy a brief run of chart success.
June: Roxette celebrate their 20th anniversary with a new DVD containing an old concert (Unplugged? C!B!B! era??) and some “exclusive” footage that most fans will have seen already. Much moaning follows on TDR.
July: Roxette return to the stage together, performing at one or two summer festivals. Fans are thrilled and call for a full-scale reunion.
September: Roxette announce plans for a new compilation to appear just in time for Christmas with 2 new songs. Much moaning follows on TDR. Lead single is a major radio hit and minor commercial success as enthusiasm for new compilation is generally low. Much moaning follows on TDR, since lead single sounds nothing like “Sleeping in my Car.”
November: On the eve of the release of the new compilation, Roxette announce plans for new studio album, with recordings to begin in March ’07 and a September ’07 release date in mind. Fans go crazy. Moaning stops on TDR... until the single comes out, at least.

Anyone else? It’s nice to be able to speculate now that it seems likely that Roxette will return in some form in the next year or so, now that Marie is healthy again and back in the spotlight!

New Roxette compilation released in the US,including TCOTH & ATAY.But keeping the raspberries-hearted,just to help the sales in Valentine’s day.
March,6th:
New SOAP single released around europe.The single hits the top 10,in Germany maybe.But the media thinks the single isn’t much clever.SOAP is released in a few countries finally.Nothing happened in Southamerica again.
May:
Roxette gets a reaction in the US and the GH sold very well.Roxette thinks about record a brand new album.
July:
Roxette celebrate their 20th aniversary with two big arena concerts in Sweden.The fans went really crazy.The two shows sold out!Fans from all over the world asisted.

In a break of the Roxette recordings,Marie released a new solo album in swedish.Go straight to the swedish charts.No tour for this album,just some tv appearances.

Roxette released a brand new album,breaking the charts in some countries around the world!

Roxette starting comeback!
May 17th, 2006 will be marked by fans all around the globe: it is the European release of the new Roxette record with the title “Lost and Found”. The lead single “THE CURSE OF THE RETURN” will get its airplay in the beginning of March. Per Gessle revealed the release date and says that his latest project Son Of A Plumber will be on ice, since the 20th anniversary was “a chance to come back again, big and, of course, with Marie on board!”. The Swedish singer Marie Fredriksson got healthy again after a long time of illness.

US - Release in July 2006
Per Gessle said in an interview with “N.Y. TIMES” in New York that another compilation would break Roxette’s neck in the US, even if it’s Roxette’s 20th birthday - “you have to make decisions, and you mostly have to make the right decisions... and we think it is right to serve something new on a plate! Hey, we have to celebrate it”, he says and laughs while raising his hands. Marie Fredriksson smiles, adding “the new record is brillant, i really like it a lot and some songs are really special!”
ROXETTE touring the globe
After getting much attention with LOST AND FOUND (Sweden #1, Germany #1, UK #4 and US #3), Per Gessle and Marie Fredriksson feel right to make a tour to some special places of the globe. A not that extended tour with some gigs in each country where LOST AND FOUND got released are planned for spring 2007. The new single YOU’RE THE ONLY ONE is to be released in Septembre 2007. Marie Fredriksson took the melody from her solo-song TRO and wrote the English lyrics.
ROXETTE breaking the charts
What a wonderful comeback - everyone likes Roxette and one can think there is again a hype as in the former THE LOOK times. The new album sold worldwide about 12 million copies, the two singles sold both platinum. In the US million of fans expect Roxette to tour again, the brand new single YOU’RE THE ONLY ONE got its release last week and is already sold out. In Europe quite similar: In Germany Roxette had a big appearance in the TV-show “Wetten, dass...?” (12-14 million viewers each show) and Sweden is proud of having Roxette back in the international music branch. Per Gessle: “It is great and it is bigger than I had expected it - it’s great to be back with Marie on stage!”
Maybe just maybe, dreaming just dreaming....don’t take this that serious. And....i had no sleep...that’s why i wrote that :-P (to prevent you from telling me something like “you’re crazy/ill...” i am not, really... ;o) )

ok, remember these words and that is because I´m good predicting!:
1- march 2006: soap´s european release. Per will go abroad for promotion inside Europe. Possibly he will get USA and South Africa and South America. There will be a few Night Clubs concerts.
2- May 2006: marie will release a new album in swedish and she will be on tour inside sweden. She will do 14 concerts, the album will sell 200.000 copies.
3- august 2006: pearls of passion + dance passion digipack. AND there will be another compilation + an roxette EP with 5 new songs to celebrete the 20 years. A roxette dvd will be released too BUT I can´t give any details.

I can’t see another compilation in the places where TBH and TPH are currently available. That’s pointless. A new compilation for the USA market is ok, because the latest compilation were not released there. It won’t include new songs, that would be unfair!

I hope for some new material, and this sounds very possible from the latest quotes from both Per and Marie. I think it is very unlikely that we will get a full album though, as they wouldnt have time. Perhaps a couple of new songs for download only? Or even a couple of summer gigs in sweden. I really hope there is not another compilation though....for the US, thats OK, but for the rest of the world it would be completely ridiculous

1.) per secures a deal in the usa for roxette with yet another independent lable. COnflicts between management and the label lead to poor promotion and the half sacked compilation they put out flops. Rollingstone reports that they will release a new album in the states and announces a single the same way they did for roomservice, but nothing ever happens.
2.) per and marie finish an album late 4th quarter 2006 and bundle it with a live dvd, hit all over europe, and another #1 album in sweden
3.) Roxette decide not to tour and Maries album which got shelved due to roxette comes out and is a hit, she goes back into the studio and plans a new english album not written or prodouced by her husband )

In march 2006 Per and Marie are back in the studio. As we all know, the recordings takes almost whole year. So I expect nothing more in 2006. But in January and February 2007 new album will be mixed and mastered and ready to release. First single from new album will be released April 9th 2007, new album coming soon in April 23rd 2007. With European tour starting September 22nd. Let’ s bet...
