Pros and cos of being short/tall
Debora said on December 8, 2005 19:06:
Ok, this is a silly topic, but it’s only curiosity.
I’m really short, just 1,50 metres and it brings me some problems, specially when I go to the supermarket because I need help to reach the highest shelves. The only pro I find is that many people can’t guess my age.
Majdy said on December 8, 2005 20:25:

rox-kuryliw said on December 8, 2005 21:42:

When my brother and his GF go to india for there holidays he says they feel like giants ,and him and his gf are both 5’11. He said they are tiny, he wants to take me there cos they all stare at them !!!lol
Vixzter said on December 8, 2005 21:51:
being 5ft 2” means i can see naff all at concerts unless I’m right down the front! ;-)
@rox-kuryliw : my bf is 6ft 5” ;-)
rox-kuryliw said on December 8, 2005 22:01:

rox-kuryliw: Are you a guy?
I’m 173cm. Sometimes I feel short, sometimes tall. Mostly tall. It sucks when I wear high heels and the guys seem to be shorter :(. Then I feel bad. I can reach things though :D.
silverROSES said on December 9, 2005 12:38:
I’m short too! just 5’2 eversince I’ve been dreaming of becoming slim and tall but it will never happen..
But it’s not a problem here in my country since it’s the usual height here!!!! and you know what deborah there’r also a prize of being short!!!
remember those early days at school! your always in front...
Debora said on December 9, 2005 17:24:
When I was at Primary School I was always in front and that was good at the feast ( I don’t know if that is the right word, sorry...), but when I was at Secondary School was the opposite because the taller ones were in front and I never saw anything...
When I was doing my training to be a teacher usually some parents thought that I was another child... that was funny... I was the teacher :)
rox-kuryliw said on December 9, 2005 17:48:

I’m 6ft 2, and there’s no problems at all. I like being this height
Debora said on December 10, 2005 18:40:
Nowadays I really don’t mind being short, but when I was a teenager was horrible. Anyway, I would like to be 20 cm taller so I would be 170cm.
AddeColciago said on December 10, 2005 23:23:
I’m 1 86 cm.
Haha, I read somewhere that Per is 1 83.. I’m taller than you man !! ;D
Santi said on December 11, 2005 00:35:
I can’t think of many advantages of being short!! Guess I fit better inside a F1. and more realistically, I do have more leg space in planes without playing more and go more comfortable in trains than if I were taller. :P
Debora said on December 11, 2005 19:04:
A F1 car... I think I’m too short even for that...
Anyway, I can’t drive at all :)

I’m only 1.53 m and I was really annoyed when I realised I wouldn’t grow anymore. Now I got used to it but it’s sometimes tricky to reach the top-shelves at home or at the supermarket or at work (in a library). I have more difficulties to find clothes that really fit me- I’m too old to buy my stuff at the children’s department :-/ Usually I have to shorten the legs of any pair of trousers I buy - I hate that. >:-(
Ferdan said on December 12, 2005 12:22:
I can’t think of any pro of being short... umm maybe it makes it less likely to get behaded by a roof fan
there are girls that like’em short, believe it or not (i know from personal experience).
and you would blend in well if you go to Japan, according to this MSN article

“Too tall for Tokyo”
coyboyusa said on December 13, 2005 15:56:
well they’ve proven that tall people with good looks tend to get more jobs and have higher salaries. tall people tend to get more respect even if they are mornions just cause they have to be looks up to to be addressed. Tall pewople tend to die earlier from heart disease tho
rox-kuryliw said on December 13, 2005 16:52:
coyboyusa , your just like a little ray of sunshine , oops need loo now.
Debora said on December 13, 2005 20:39:
@lonelygirl: I have the same problem when I buy clothes, specialy trousers, they are beautiful but after shorter them they are just another common pairs of trousers cos them lost the shape.
@coyboyusa: you’re right, here in Argentina it happens all the time, if you are tall you can get a job more easily than if you are short, and if you are blonde, better, and if you are tall, blonde and young (under 25) even better...
Debora said on December 13, 2005 20:41:
How many centimetres is a feet? I can’t think in feet... sorry
Majdy said on December 14, 2005 01:03:
it sux when people got their job because of their looks , unless they apply to modelling job then I can’t complain.
Malin__ said on December 15, 2005 21:28:
Wow, it sounds like i should move to Argentina, I´m 1,80 meter, blond young girl! =D

rox-kuryliw said on December 15, 2005 23:01:
my whole family are like that at concerts , people must dread us infront of them in shows lol,.
Debora said on December 16, 2005 18:15:
Concerts are a big problem to me cos I never can see... well, I can see other people backs...
harriej said on December 16, 2005 21:34:
I am quitte tall (1.97 m) and this are the:
Cons:
- backache happens quite often
- Don’t walk under low walls without watching well, they can hurt if you run into them.
Pro’s:
- Visiting concerts you see a lot more
Debora said on December 18, 2005 13:47:
I’ll go with you to the next Roxette concert, I could sit on your shoulders and watch perfectly from there... what do you think?
Debora said on December 19, 2005 18:31:
I would like to know what Yao Ming thinks about being tall...
LittleSpooky said on December 19, 2005 23:15:
Ferdan: ZAT YOU?!?!?! Good grief!
I don’t mind being the height I am. Average height for women in the US is 5’7”. I’m 5’5”.
LittleSpooky said on December 8, 2005 20:08:
Well, I’m 5’5”, or 1.65m.
I do have issues trying to reach the stuff on top shelves, but depending on where I am, depends on the method I use. I’ll climb, get a chair / stool, or just ask someone to get me something.
