Dial Up or DSL?

I was just wondering if there are some people here still using dial up internet... I figure it is still popular....

I use DSL myself... have done for around 18 months could never go back to dial up!

DSL. Dial up is soooo 90’s!

Cable modem

changed to (A)DSL a month ago because I need to research a lot around the internet and the pc’s at school are always occupied.

Been surfing with DSL for at least 3 years and couldn’t live without it anymore. Every time I sit at my mother’s PC (modem), I am regularly freaking out and getting on my mother’s nerves (because I freak out)...

Cable

I may have to go dial up for a little bit once I get moved. However, there’s like “turbo dial up” or whatever that is where it’s still dial up, but a bit faster than dial up... but not as fast as cable / dsl.

It’s called ISDN. :)

Cable as well.

cable cause i can’t wait 20 minuted to see jake gayllenhall shirtless

ADSL, i got it around march and love it!!

Just wondering what kind of speeds do you get overseas?? from what i hear it’s super fast compared to the “broadband” speeds in Australia. I’m currently on a 512k plan.

Internet sites are richer in contents and pix and videos so Dial-Up connections are almost impossible to keep unless you surf only text based sites or you have a lot of patience!

Edit: I have a 4Mb ADSL connection but basically is a 1.2Mb connection that every now and then reaches 4Mb. I still wonder if real 4Mb+ connections really exist (talking about standard ADSL).

Standard ADSL or Cable modem connection in the UK is 1 or 2MB but I have seen 8MB advertised.

ADSL 2500 kb down, 400 kb up

Hey roxers, Scotty J here.

Well I still use dial-up, my connects is always around 46.6 kbps, but sometimes it’s around 30.0 kbps.

I use dialup because it is very cheap through the company I go through (6 USD per month) and I live with my parents. I have asked them several times to get a faster connection, but they haven’t done it. I have checked into it, it’s about 30 USD for a faster connection. I attend a university (and our libraries have a fast connection too) so if there is a file I just need to download that is huge I go to the uni or library and take my external harddrive, plug it into the USB port and download it. I can relate to you all though because there is more video and stuff. No, I don’t text surf website, haha, but then again I usually don’t watch the videos on many sites, or I’ll do it at the uni.

Peace!
