Lost

Does anyone here like this series?
For those of you who don’t know it:
It is about a transoceanic flight Sydney - LA that deviates from its route and finally suffers an accident. Some of the passengers survive but as the plane was so much off-path, they’re not going to be found by the rescue teams. They find themselves on a weird island. But it’s not the island and its mysteries that worry them the most, because they create their own problems themselves.
Now, do you think they’re ever going to be rescued?
Which is your favourite character?
Why do “the others” want children, if those people on the boat were “the others”, of course? :D
I didn’t see the last episodes and I missed some of the ones of the previous season. Gonna watch some now! :D

I love it, got sucked in with the promo’s before it started, and since then watched every episode. Can’t wait for the next season to start.
I just hope that it doesn’t keep on going and going without ever revealing the story. The first season was great but there were a few eps i felt they could have done without as nothing really happend. But thats just me.

I hate it. Nothing ever happens and never will. Or too many, not connected, things happen. Shite.

I missed the first episode... I tried to get into from episode 2 but I just couldn’t...

I guess saying “I like it” would be an understatement - I pretty much fell in love with it after seeing the unaired version of the pilot sometime in June 2004! *g* Granted, getting to know some of the writers, producers and actors a little over the past year might have something to do with it... ;-)
So this might sound strange, but you could probably say I’m as much a fan of the creative team as I’m a fan of the show! Too bad J.J. Abrams gets way more credit than co-creator/executive producer/showrunner Damon Lindelof (who’s only 32, BTW!) and executive producer/showrunner Carlton Cuse even though he’s busy with M:I III and has next to no input on the storylines in each episode!
ETA: For those of you who have seen all episodes that aired so far on ABC - did you listen to the official podcasts with Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse and the audio commentary with Leonard Dick and Javi Grillo-Marxuach you can get on abc.com or on iTunes? Totally hilarious!
@coyboy: Scott Wolf? Uhm, wrong Salinger you got there! *g*
ETA2: Strange, now parts of my post disappeared after editing?!

I also hope they don’t leave them wandering there forever until the series get cancelled and there’s no end. That’d be too bad, though we’ve seen it’s something that has happened so many times before.
The difference between this series and others is that there’s a very obvious development in the story that also is in relation to the survival of the characters. They’re knowing more and more about the new environment and it would be too bad, as I said, that it never comes to an end.
I wonder how some of the characters would face a rescue, like for example Kate or Locke, or even Walt. I don’t think they really want to come back to their past lives.
On the other hand... how does Shannon keep her hair so shiny after 50 days in the jungle? :D LOL

By the way, is the story completely written or do you think they are writting it as it goes?
I think it’s too complicated for the latter.

I read on CNN that they are making up season II as it goes along. but i’m sure they have something in mind for it.
Starrox said on December 9, 2005 16:49:
@Santi: Both actually! They planned the big developments in advance (e.g. they already know how the last episode of season 2 and how the whole show will end), but they’re making up parts of the story as they go. I think it was Damon Lindelof who compared it to a cross-country-trip - you might make an unexpected turn here and here, but all’s well as long as you still end up where you wanted to go in the first place! Gotta see if I can find his exact words and the various things the writers said or wrote about this somewhere...
(I could go into more detail and tell you certain plots they hadn’t planned in advance, but I don’t want to spoil anyone!)

i love it, its the only thing on tv im watching religiously now.
I am glad we finally know John’s story, he was always the most curious character to me.
but charlie is my fav just cos he is very cute :P
but I also think Sawyer is pretty cool, I think I am like him in lots of ways (maybe not good!)
Santi said on December 9, 2005 23:00:
@Starrox: So, do you happen to know how many seasons it is planned to last? :DD
@Zaine: So you like Charlie also because he’s the Brit pop musician, I guess :DDD
By the way, have you noticed the similarity between Drive Shaft and Oasis?? I mean, both from Manchester, both with a duo of brothers who get along worse than bad... even Charlie’s brother is called LIAM and he’s the singer!!!! :DDD
Starrox said on December 9, 2005 23:52:
@roxgirl_germany: Hints? From me? Impossible, absolutely impossible! *g*
@Santi: Five, IIRC, but don’t quote me on that!
Just curious: I know the UK was one of the last European countries to start showing Lost, so they are really behind and still somewhere in season 1, Sweden is only two weeks or something behind the USA, Germany, Switzerland and France finished season 1 this summer/fall, but what about the rest?
ETA2: Driveshaft? More like Suckshaft! *g* (And yes, that is a quote!)

For Airdates nearly worldwide:

In Spain, the second season has not yet started, they’re still rebroadcasting the first, both on Fox and TVE. But I guess it takes some time, since they have to dub the programmes into Spanish.
Santi said on October 9, 2006 11:16:
Oh well, know the third season started and for the premiere nearly nothing happened :s
It’s being pretty slow, don’t you think? Anyone still following it?
I’m guessing Thomas may be right that they are not solving any of the mysteries they pose...
Nashiely said on October 9, 2006 19:17:
Yes, it is kind of slow. I read that the third season will be about who the others are. I don’t know if this is true, but it’s their turn to be known. I hope we can have some answers.
kachina008 said on December 7, 2005 16:55:
I watch it!!!!!
I think all the characters are pretty colorful! but John’s story is the saddest so far.
I think that there are different groups of ppl on the island, all crashed there at different moments in time, all trying to survive. Perhaps the raeson for the crash is some kind of electromagnetic abnormality: this is why you have to push the button every 108 minutes.
but it’s fun1!
