Imaginary frienz

Oh plz someone tell me you had one too. I refuse to be the only abnormal child. I’ve asked 11 people today and they all think i’m nuts :(

Lately i’ve been thinking a lot about my childhood imaginary friend. Dunno why. (maybe cuz i’m continually questioning my own sanity the last few months :S)

I’ve always wondered what causes kids to make up these friends. I had no lack of friends or attention from parents etc. And i didn’t even want him around! He was a bully and i hated every minute he was around. I always asked him to leave me alone. Brrrrrr.
Eeeek this should’ve been a sign to my parents of what was to come :|

Hmm I used to always talk to myself when I was a kid. I still do, all the time. For a long period of time, 10 years maybe, my imaginary friend was named Per :). He was my Daddy Long Legs. Good old times.

Your spider lived for 10 years?

I had a journal I used to weep to. does that count??

I’ll comment in a minute... once I get my thoughts in order :o)

Kachina ya me too to mu journal lol. It would start with Dear Per, and I would go on. I still have them. And I translated them to send them to per :(. I never did. I would like to though but they sound so dumb now.

It’s normal to children ! Me too I had!
as far as i can remember I always have peter pan beside me!

Children between the ages of 4 to 6 they have this kind world that only them knows!

Tibs: To answer you earlier comment about imaginary friends, no you’re not “abnormal” for having them.

Girls, when they’re younger, have “tea parties” with their stuffed animals, pretending that they’re people.

Boys, they have their little “war games” and what not with their little soldier toys and the like.

But the sad thing is: With the amount of computer games and toys of that ilk (Nintendo, XBox, PS, et al), most children are LOSING their imaginations. They don’t go outside to play any more. They don’t read books much to stretch their imaginations.

I remember, when I was a kid, we used to have these “reading marathons” where we’d bring in books that we wanted to read, have a half day of classes (this was elementary school) and then we’d gather in the cafeteria for boxed / bagged lunches and start reading until school let out.

That should be stuff that one does in junior high and high school as well. We’re turning out a bunch of un-imaginative money grubbing no scruples robots and wondering why things are slowly deteriorating.

Spooks, what’s this, an *ESSAY* on the evils of society?!?!?!?!??! a simple yes or no answer will suffice damnit!@# ;D

BACK!!!!! BEFORE I BEAT YOU WITH A CHOCOLATE BAR!

I DO NOT CARE FOR DEVIATIONS FROM THE TOPIC!! I AM FOOLISH AND CONFORMING!!

however, I don’t see much of a threat from a choco-bar. It would seem that the choco is in more danger from ME :P

Duh ;o)

oh YES, beat me with that chocolate bar baby.

0.o

hmmmm chocolate...

Kachina: *holds up giant chocolate bar, grinnin evilly* Here ya go!

usually kids with imaginary friend are more creative.

Majdy while there is no hope for the rest of us ? :D
:D

I never had an imaginary friend. I tried my hardest to pretend I did, cos all the other kids seemed to have one (peer pressure!) but it just wasn’t there!

lol! of course there’s still a hope :D :D

I just read that somewhere. but i think it’s got point, because “create” things like imaginary friends is something that’s so creative, so the kids never feel That lonely. but of course, living in imagination TOO MUCH could be dangerous too. reality and imagination has to be balance I guess.... so, it’s parents job to make sure that their kids have that.
