Do you really believe in the saying that “First impression always last? or “The first impresion is lasting?”

Once I took a teaching job in college, I had this student who really pissed me off from the first moment we met, that was my first impression of her, a student who is inattentive in class. But after sometime, maybe she noticed my constant effort of catching her attention, she changed. Now she’s one of my favorite students.

nope!! There are some instances actually most them I got the wrong Impression...
I have a friend whom at start I don’t like, coz of her flirty attidude but in the end I like her because she is real.

What you see is what you get! No pretensions so this are the people that are easy to go along with...

About your student! didn’t you ever have an idea that your student is just tring to catch your attention. And she is successful in doing so.

That might be her finest way for she never wanted to be labeled as teacher’s pet.

And there is also a reason why sometimes we develop this kind of impression!!!!

Maybe first impression is also created by how that particular person wants us to feel about them, just like implying to us “who cares” or vice versa.

SilverRoses, my first impression of her has totally changed, somehow we’re alike coz sometimes we think alike.

Another question, do you believe in soul mates or is there such a thing as soul mates?

DaminehGessle, you’re lucky you have that knack of knowing a person for what they really are. Maybe I’m just that type of person who is easily hoodwinked.

Maybe soul mates are real, we might not know it but they are just somewhere near you.

SR, we think alike in a way that when we see a person or some things somehow when our eyes met you know that we’re thinking the same thing. Do you agree with that?

I believe in the power of first impressions but i dont think they necessarily last forever. If you see a person only once the impression probably will last forever but if you get to know the person bla bla..

I agree with you tiny! First impression is really important but it doesn’t really stays forever! It’s only a moment when you got to give yourself that
person a time. You got curious about the person and she gain entry. Now your her!! Just like that.

As you get along with the person whom u had a bad impression before, all your thoughts with him/her will change..

just like mine! i never think to get close with this person.. nver in my mind..as in never..never..promise!

but..as i get along with this person, i changed all my impressions coz i realize how gud the person is..all i want now is be a close friend of this person..
just like that! im always seeking for true and lasting friendship thats why.. i want to help this person to see how beautiful life is..

hope this person will get my point.;-) i want this person treat me as if close enough to share..

this person treated me so nice and hoping that this will last..datz all!;-)

does the type of personality of a person seem very important just to say a positive impression to him/her?

is there qualification in everything....?

seriously, my first impression to this person is unreachable..datz it! i already shared my thoughts to this person to some of my friends and as a “karma” i ate all what i’ve said to this person.. i dont know why i felt this..maybe, longing for a sibling and friend though i hav 2 sis and 1 bro..
before, i dont really want to get closer to this person..i dont know why but maybe the word unreachable stucked on mind already eversince i know this person...just so happen we became friends coz this person is already part of us..as i’v got acquainted and know this person well, all i want now is to be close enough to treat me as real friend and a sister too just like what im doing ryt now..

oh my gosh...still there? i guess u’v got sleep with my novel..but this is true.. i mean this!

I have an answer to that...Some people of the silent type are always misunderstood, but the problem there really is that person is also shy. They dont want to ,so some people tend to label them as snobs.

I’ve already given my stand on the original discussion, first impression would stick if you don’t give yourselves time to get to know this person. That’s the way it always has been, your first impression on an individual is the physical aspect and as time goes by you get to know the character of that person.

Don’t be misled!

yup. ur ryt maiden.. we must not be misled by the physical attributes of a person that may able you to judge him/her...

it is also true that silent person are snob esp when you dont get along yet with him/her...

i could probably suggest that persons who are timid and shy must also express whatz in her mind and heart.. speak up.. its more fun being extrovert person but not all the time...:-)
