X-box vs Playstation

Hi!
I’m thinking about buying an X-box or a Playstation (PS2 that is). What would you advise? (Are there any differences between the kind of games, quality?etc.)

Xbox, granted the old one was massive, but the new one is super sexy. Waiting for the December release.

Checkout the games on each system and see which has the most that you like/play. That’s the system to get.
I’ve got a xbox, only because everyone else had one at that time, but i love it and am glad i didn’t get a ps2.
And if your an online gamer you can’t go past xbox Live, it was great for the short time i had it.

Depends on what games you like. I feel Xbox (ZStation on CSI) has more, better and more violent games while PS2 has more sports and family games. Nintendo I won’t even comment.

I’m really looking for new PS3. I like Playstation more than Xbox. There’s one big reason. I have little hands, so Xbox’s pad is way too big to my hand. I like games like NHL 2k5, Pro Evolution Soccer, Half-Life :)

xobs only real claim to fame is halo, ps2/3 are backwards compatible, have a huge library of titles for all sorts of players, only thing is u can’t calibrate the controllers so i hate ps2 for that

If Tev won’t comment on Nintendo then I will :D
They have the best replay value - all the old Mario games, Zelda , Final Fantasy etc etc. Their quality games titles and mascots smack the heads of the competition.
The PS series is better for the casual gamer whilst the Xbox is for those that can’t live without Halo :D
And the next Nintendo will be backwards compatible - you will be able to download all of their catalogue from NES - n64 .
Tev is just feeling sour cause of the Rox - Nintendo related Rox flop. :D

It depends on what kind of game you like. If you already have a PC an X-Box would be spend money in nothing because it’s almost the same, the same games, an X-Box is like a PC but only to play.
I prefer PS2 because I like games from Japan like RPGs (they are completely different from PC RPGs)
No doubt, I’d buy a PS2.
But you should wait for PS3 that is coming soon, if I’m not wrong.

If you look at the pure computing power I would recommend the PS3 in front of the Xbox360. But I also have to say that I believe one can do more with the Xbox in the end. It is after all more a “normal” PC under the hood and that I think is something positive. :) It is apparently (according to reliable sources) much easier to develop games for the Xbox than the PS as well, which I guess result in better games in the end for the Xbox.

From what I understand, the XBox360 isn’t worth a hill of beans in the graphics department. The PS3 will beat it hands down.
Like I said before: It all depends on the types of games that you want to play. PS3 will STILL take up less room than the XBox.

Neither was the PS2, yet it’s outsold the xbox about 10:1.
The difference was the huge market Sony already had with their PS1 owners. Xbox had to start from scratch. With the extra 6-9 month headstart MS have got with the 360, and the huge market that Sony has, it’ll be interesting to see what happens this time.
Both systems are looking to be home entertainment hubs, to play all your games/movies/music/pictures etc. If the 360 can do as much as a modded xbox, they’re onto a winner.
In the end, it doesn’t matter how powerful/aesthetically pleasing the system is, it comes down to the games you want to play.

Currently it’s looking like 2nd/3rd quarter 2006, from what i’ve been reading.

There seems to be about equal games coming out.
Personally, the PS2 takes up less space than the XBox. Conversely, I haven’t heard of too many “play with your friends over the net” games for PS2 as for XBox.
