That’s part of the verse... the middle 8 is the “it has to be a big thing - it’s bringing me to my knees” bit.
“I get bye bye baby baby bye baby baby bye bye” is the first bridge that comes to mind... bridges usually come either straight before or after a chorus (i.e. it forms the “bridge” between the verse and the chorus).
They also happen more then once - middle-8’s only happen once, because there’s only ever one “middle 8” bars of a song.
