Moderating threads....Dictating threads...

I understand the boredom of rereading topics that are already around. I do not understand the need to list fave top songs, best album, etc... but i dont think there is a need to redirect to other threads... People who would like to reply should be able to (up to them)... those who would like to waste their time doing so on several threads, ok with me...should be ok with TDR....
If you do it to one user I would expect you went through all and archive repetitive ones... i was going to make a point about people restarting topics, but even worse to followup on them :)
Just a comment....

yes, of course if a thread that was started 3 years ago pops up again, we won’t know / go back in time, so we will surely let it be, but if the same pops up in 2 weeks time or even a month, I think it is logic to close the most recent one and redirect to the old one.
The same happens with front page news - if something is discussed on an article already, and a couple of hours later a threat is started we normally will close it and redirect to the front page article.
Btw, I moved this to TDR Discussions as per:
“Forum description: Discussion on The Daily Roxette web site and TDR’s services.”

Hi Peter, thanks for the feedback, appreciate it :)
I you are referring to two archive/redirects we did today, they are pretty self-evident. Both were obviously replies to very recent discussions in the upper half of the first page.
We try to redirect - if possible - to a recent subject if there is need, but ofcourse we cannot get 100% ;)
To go back and check every single discussion in TDR’s history would be a bit too much I think...
