Mine was some various artists cassette back in 1983 (or 82??) when I was very young.
It had “Gloria” (Laura Branigan) for example.
My first CD: The Essential Marilyn Monroe some 10 years later.

My first vinyl record is really far too embarrassing to tell you... but my first CD was the Spending My Time single :-)

Mine was a cassette with various artists which included The Look (by Roxette) :)

My mom or my grandparents would usually buy my records for me (I was too young to buy them myself), but included in my collection:
Mary Poppins, Pete’s Dragon, The Black Hole, Pollyanna (I think that was more for my mom than me), anything Sesame Street, and a whole passle of others. Currently, in my dwindled collection, it’s all Roxette.

Vinyl would have been an ABBA best of compilation in the mid-to-late seventies.
The first cassette I bought was probably Eurythmics “Be Yourself Tonight”. (1985ish)
The first CD I bought was Kate Bush’s “The Sensual World”—a duplicate of one I had on tape.
“Look Sharp!” was certainly one of the first few I (re)bought, and that was because (I Could Never) Give You Up wasn’t on the cassette. C!B!B! was the first CD-only purchase for Roxette. . .
The first CD I bought that I didn’t already have on cassette? Who knows. I think Annie Lennox’s “Diva”.
