Question: LTYH released as a cassette?

Hi,
does someone know why LTYH originally was released only as a cassette in the US? I remember that this exchange student brought The Look to the US and afterwards different radiostations copied the song via cassette to each other. After that DFS came out -> in the meantime Roxette must have got a US contract, rite?
So why does someone release a song as a cassette? Promotion? Usual practice by that time?

Cheaper to produce, and the US has always fancied the music cassette. LTYH was the first Roxette single to be released only on cassette in the US. Later it has been released on vinyl as well.
