I am not sure, but I think I have seen this question before.....
anyway, to answer your question:
I am working at the Delft University of Technology, in the section Reactor and Catalysis Engineering (http://www.dct.tudelft.nl/race) as a Chemical Research Technician.
This means I am giving technical support to Ph.D-students and Post-Docs.
When they want to do their research they usually need equipment, which is either not yet build or the available equipment doesn’t meet their wishes.
I alter the equipment in such way, they are able to do their research, or , if necessary I build complete new setups.
Sometimes I do (small) research-projects myself as well, with the focus on getting better catalysts for the car-industrie. (Mainly Diesel-engines).
Hope this is clear enough.
Otherwise drop me an e-mail.

Cool information guys....
@ Santi I have a friend who is a Research Scientist! Only her research is on Cancers... she works here!
She’s been doing this for around 5 years now, and has now decided that she will go to medical school after all, so she has gone for a 2007 entry into medical school, she loves her job.... ;) needless to say I think I would if I did something like that!

I’m going to be a Student again! YEAH! so wanted this for years, that I am finally going to start a access course in my chosen subject area in September, I’ll still be working in my current job as the course is part time at a college in Manchester but I’ll be applying for university soon and hopefully will get entry in September 2006!
I am so pleased, I finally found the information I needed and the course needed to get my first foot on the ladder!

If I can pass this course which is an “Access Course” because I have not studied for some time, I will then go (hopefully) onto university next September to study futher! :)
It’s something I have thought about for a long time but never did anything + on it.... and it’s a case of if I don’t try then I’ll regret it forever, so it’s now and never but I am really keen! :)

It’s risky to reveal one’s occupation is forums such as this, where various folks have deemed one’s contributions inflammatory, and will look for any reason whatever to attack you. In the spirit of our mutual Roxette-admiration good will, however....
By day (Monday - Friday) I am the financial analyst for a giant, huge, world-wide oil company.
Nights and weekends: I work for a neighborhood weekly newspaper, reporting and writing about local issues and occurrences of note, composing editorials about local politics and personalities... never, it’s apparent, pleasing everyone.

Olddag: There’s no law that says you had to make a reply here. If you have such a problem with it, don’t even bother.
I’m not ashamed I’m unemployed at the moment. I’m still trying to sort out how to take a few pot shots back at the company as a final “Fook You” to them. I’m hoping to prevent someone else from going through the same things that I had to go through for the last five YEARS. There are a few people here that remember me from my “old” pseudonym of Lee Saxton.
Those people were here when I fought my former employers back in 2000 for the load of horse shit they just fired me for now. However, my efforts are too late for the 4 other drivers and 1 supervisor that were terminated within 14 days of my termination. I’ve had 8 different former co-workers verify the time frame.
Long and short: You don’t like it... GO AWAY AND DON’T POST ON A TOPIC YOU THINK YOU MIGHT BE RIDICULED IN.
