Vixzter said on August 21, 2005 19:43:
haven’t seen the first 3 (or was it 2?) not gonna bust a gut going to this one either ;)
Sparvogamarie said on August 22, 2005 07:51:
I’m looking forward to this one because I actually read the whole series while I was in Sweden (they were the only English books they had in the library) so it’s the first time I’m going to see one of the movies after reading it first.
rox-kuryliw said on August 22, 2005 08:22:
how come Vixzter youre not going to see this one either ? dont you think it looks good from the trailer ?!
Vixzter said on August 22, 2005 16:09:
haven’t seen the trailer so wouldn’t know, when you have a mum and brother who go on and on and on and on and on and on and on about harry potter you tend to be a little bored of it ;)
coyboyusa said on August 23, 2005 12:40:
when i think of all the bastardization that is gonna be done to alot of classic book series thanks to harry potter it makes me kinda ill but it is nice to know that people still read......i’m much more excited about the upcoming voltron and transfoprmers movies
rox-kuryliw said on August 23, 2005 12:55:
i think alot of films adapted from book have done well in the pass. matilda is a fave adaptation of mine into a film, miss trunchbull in it was perfect , and charlie and choc fac is great aswell. Looking foward to the ’The Chronicles of Narnia’, fave from when i was little. Whats voltron :-S
per_mson said on August 23, 2005 17:48:
Saw the first filmed and liked it. Saw the second and thought “haven’t I already seen this film before” and almost fell asleep. Didn’t see the third one and will not see this either. :)
rox-kuryliw said on August 23, 2005 18:58:

i did think 1st was to similar to the 2nd also, but the second book is weakest of all books so far aswell.
coyboyusa said on August 24, 2005 13:46:
how can you not knwo what voltron is its the biggest cartoon of the 80’s 5 mechanical lions with powrs of natural elements for the centurion voltron sheesh

Hey I’d never thought i’d say this but I’m actually excited about this movie... never bothered when the first two came out... however was forced by pure boredom to what them on satelite... rented the third on DVD when it came out and WANT to see this one on the big screen... still wonders what it was what Rowling were tripping on when she wrote those books! Still i wouldn’t say I’m a fanatic but it’s very entertaining and thought-provoking - Love the richness of the metaphors!!
ally77 said on September 17, 2005 22:09:

Majdy: From what I understand, yes, it will be in select IMAX theatres.
My mother thinks Harry Potter’s evil. She thinks that it’s a recruiting tool for Pagans.
Well... *rocks back and forth between heels and balls of feet*... I was Pagan BEFORE I saw anything related to Harry Potter (other than people carrying the books).
o_O
Majdy said on November 4, 2005 13:32:

animalkingdom said on November 20, 2005 01:32:
Saw it tonight!
Gotta admit though that I have not been an HP fan, really. I saw the last one, and after only that some half an hour of the first one!
Anyway, I loved Prisoner of Azkaban, this one’s loses a little to it. Goblet is great fun though, lasted those 2 hours and 45 minutes without a thought about going to the bathroom :P
Malfoy wasn’t around that much, though. Should I say boo? :P
LittleSpooky said on November 20, 2005 08:03:
Jude: No, I don’t think my mom’s a fan of the current Pope... she’s just disturbing in my opinion.
Saw the movie this morning and I thought it was absolutely fantastic :o)

I think I’m in the minority, but I wasn’t overly impressed with the latest one. I know the book is mega-long and they tried to put as much as they could into it, but it doesn’t work. No explanation why yer blokie was cursed in the maze, etc, etc. Everything seemed rushed and not explained enough and some superfluous scenes.
I also thought the acting by the 3 lead kids wasn’t up to par. Ron did have his funny moments but Hermione seemed distressed all the time and was just over-acted, and Daniel Radcliffe just didn’t seem to be ’in character’ as much. Perhaps my expectations were too much, as I love the 3 movies to date and have the DVDs, or mayb I’m more excited about King Kong (the newest trailer is unbelievable) and the Chronicles of Narnia .... I dunno. I will go see it again.
I don’t want to put anyone off seeing the movie.....and not being negative to provole a reaction.....just my feeling about the movie:-))))
For the record tho: Miranda Richardson was SUPERB!
LittleSpooky said on November 20, 2005 18:37:
It’s kinda hard to fit a book that’s about the size of War and Peace into a movie that’s under 3 hours, yeah. And that’s the unfortunates of today’s society. People can’t sit still for very long. They want movies that are between 1.75 hours and 2.5 hours. Anything longer than that, they lose interest in very quickly.
I know, I sat through Schindler’s List (3 hours) and The Thin Red Line (3 hours), although there was an hour out of that second movie that they could have edited out and it wouldn’t have hurt the movie at all. While I enjoyed the movies, the seats weren’t all that comfortable.
I haven’t read any of the books, don’t intend to start at the moment because I’m the type of person that loses ALL track of time when I read, so I don’t do that :o)
Majdy said on November 21, 2005 14:32:
just saw it on weekend!
I have to say it gets better and better (it get sexier too, so it’s no longer for kids!!!) the special effects was brilliant. The quidditch world cup was ssssssssooooo great!! I must say the introduction of the quidditch team was awesome and it was my fav scene.
I just wished that Ron and Hermione was having more part in the movie (just like in the book). But it must be hard to put all things in the book to the movie.
but anyway, this movie still so fantastic!!! *two thumbs up*
WorldFalls said on November 22, 2005 02:00:
I’ve seen it four times now including once at the IMAX and it just keeps getting better! :o)
rox-kuryliw said on November 24, 2005 12:57:

denny said on November 24, 2005 17:20:
I’m still waiting for the movie. Sometime in December...
I have to say I like all the movies but the books are much much better in my opinion. Too bad they can’t make such a long movie with all the scenes from the books... I was so down when I heard that there will be only one more book...
rox-kuryliw said on November 24, 2005 22:50:
yes denny is a shame they missed some stuff out of this one like the house elves protection ect ect . but it would be over 3 hours then! and its just not possible to do. I think did a great film based on the book for the epic the book is.
Order of the phonix out 2007 (being shot early next year)
mudblood prince out 2008
(both estimates from film sites)
denny said on November 25, 2005 17:34:
Yeah but I would watch no matter how long they are. I would just bring a pillow to the theatre, and loads of food, hehe.
Nice dates, it won’t be so long...
ally77 said on November 28, 2005 20:16:
I see chamber of secrets is on ITV 1 this weekend.... I’ll have to tape it as I’ll be in Sweden!
rox-kuryliw said on November 28, 2005 22:47:
i would of saved that film for christmas day personally if i was ITV 1 , silly pricks lol
denny said on December 2, 2005 00:19:
Just saw the movie and I liked it. :) Hermione (actually the actress) is much more prettier in this part. Harry is not so cute anymore :) The film is nicely done, I like the effects, especially with the boat and in the lake... I imagined Cho Chang diferently.... Aaaand, hm, what else... I like Snape! Always did! :)) Dunno why though...
Majdy said on December 2, 2005 18:29:
I like Snape too :) I hope he will get more part in the Order of Phoenix movie :)

Daniel Radcliffe mistaken for Frodo
November 29, 2005
Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe is mistakenly being mobbed by fans
of
Elijah Wood.
Lord of the Rings fans in Australia - where Radcliffe is filming his
latest movie - have mistaken 16-year-old Daniel for Elijah, 24, - who
plays Frodo in the hit fantasy trilogy.
But far from being offended by the mistake, Daniel admits he is
flattered.
He is quoted in Britain’s The Sun newspaper as saying: “So often people
shout out, ’Hey Frodo!’ as they think I’m Elija - who frankly is a very
good-looking guy so I take it as a compliment.
“I admit when a couple of people have put autograph books under my nose
I’ve signed them, ’Much love, Elijah Wood’.
“It would be a bit deflating for me if I told the truth and they said,
’Don’t bother signing it then’.”
Meanwhile, Daniel has become Britain’s richest teenager with a personal
fortune of £23-million (about R255-million).
The boy wizard is now worth more than millionaire teen stars Charlotte
Church and Joss Stone after signing a contract worth £8-million to
appear in the fifth movie, Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix.
