bomb attack in Iraq with 100 victims makes much much less press and attention than 40-50 deaths in the UK?

@purple: we’ll get the petrol, as we won’t have to wait long for the clash that provides the spark. ;-)

Yet at the same time, it loses the “shock” value because we all know what a horse’s ass of a war this is. It’s unfortunate that innocents are dying, but if you go back and look at just about every war in the history of the world, you will see the deaths of innocents involved.

I thought the very same thing LaMan. And it is sad that it is so, but you’d come to expect these things in Iraq. When it happens in a place like London it does come as more of a shock to the world. But it doesn’t mean the lives lost in Iraq are worth any less than those lost in London and am sure most people realize that anyways.
I totally agree with LS. It is much the same as what is happening in Africa. The world has grown so used to the starvation and suffering in africa that it almost seems like they have become immune to the whole situation. Which doesn’t mean nobody cares or understand what is happening in Africa. They’ve just grown used to it and it doesn’t shock them as much anymore.
