while reading the topic re first cd single, i rembered reading this in a book many many many years ago:
listen to your heart was the first single to be released in the us that was not released on vinyl that still made it to top 10 (yet alone no 1)

point being it wasn’t released on vinyl, giving roxette a considerable positioning within the ending of the vinyl single in the usa.
