Chart positions for The Change?

The Change was released in some countries in Europe some months ago. Was it only in Sweden it charted? I haven´t seen any other chart with that CD on.

It must be one of the biggest flops ever.

And please, don´t say it wasn´t recorded for the charts. Mazarin wasn´t either. And that sold quite well. More then The Change, I guess. Or?

I haven’t seen the change in Austrian charts, i am not sure about Spanish.. but I doubt it ever climbed high :S

Any Radio airplay anywhere? I´ve heard 2:nd Chance some times on Swedish national radio.

But on the other hand, Swedish comercial radio ONLY play Anastacia.

But who know, when (if) the next Roxette-album is comming out, The Change also might get some attention.

Why would a possible Roxette album give The Change some attention? I don’t get it?

I live in Spain and i haven’t heard anything from the change at any spanish radio station in the last weeks. And as far as i know it didn’t hit the top 10 of any chart.

If Roxette is out on the road, hopefully Marie is out too. :P
When GT was out on the road last summer, Mazarin sold quite well.

I’ m from Czech rep. and i heard 2nd Chance only 2 or 3 times in radio in CZ, now i’ m in Spain and i heard this song two times in last 3 weeks.
Album doesn’ t entry on Czech 80 album sales chart. The same with the single.

HOPEFULLY??? Is very sad ....

Did Gyllene Tider chart outside Sweden? I don’t think so... Mazarin didn’t chart outside Sweden either (I guess, I don’t live there)

GT charted in Norway.

Well, no big deal at all. And GT went in a Tour, that helps a lot, Marie didn’t.

Mazarin charted in Finland. Never heard 2nd Chance on the radio, but I have heard GT and Per very often on the Finnish radio. Well, The Change was a flop.

no way id call , ’the change’ a flop,

Imho it’s wrong to call it a flop because neither Marie nor EMI promoted the album as a big seller. Only promotion was a press-release, a tv-docu in Sweden and europe-wide promo-singles for airplay. If think it sold quite well for the circumstances. In Marie’s comeback story it’s a milestone anyway!

I´m with Mari... no doubt it´s a flop... but after all, does it really matters ?

@Mari: Mazarin charted in Finland? Where can I find information about that?

In my opinion it´s not a flop.
For example: Jennifer Lopez´”Rebirth” is a flop. Because there was so much promotion, and she´s always in the magazines. But Marie´s album is not a flop. Without the internet and the Roxette sites I hadn´t noticed that there is a new Marie album. And, it´s no commercial CD. This is music of an high level. Music of huge quality. On the radio there´s so much garbage. But The change is extremely good, and without any doubt the best album of 2004. A music expert told me that this is the best CD he heard for the last 15 years. So, maybe it didn´t sell well outside Sweden, but we know that this wasn´t the aim. The change is an amazing piece of music - and not a flop, it´s Marie´s proof of her musical qualities and variety.

I agree. The Change wasn’t supposed to become an international hit. And it did great in Sweden regarding certain circumstances: no promotion and so on. But 2:nd Chance entered German radio chart. It even climbed to #8 or maybe even higher :)

well said ’ Robrox ’ , ’The change’ is what music should be.

it might have been a flop commercialy but for Marie it was a great success (to record it).

Anyway, I doubt it would have sold a lot more if there would have been promotion, the album isn’t commercial at all, and that’s what sells now ;)

Mari y LoneGunman:

It was not a flop from any point of view: it was released in later October, and it was among the best selling albums in Sweden. It reached #18 in the annual album chart. No promotion, scarce air-play, no video-clips, no TV-appareances (just the docu), it spent just 2 months at the stores. But it was #18!

Mazarin and GT had huge air-play, DVD, tour... a big promotion. That makes the things very different. “The Change” is not commercial music, it’s not for the average ear. It’s more than the radio-friendly Per/GT music... Nice arrangements, magic melodies, and brilliant lyrics of course!
