Roxette cassette singles

23 replies

Does anyone know where I can find an extensive list of cassette singles that were released after “Almost Unreal”? I’m thinking of expanding my collection...

try posting in marketplace. oam

I think cassette single era last until 1994. I’ve seen some cassette singles off “Tourism” and “Crash! Boom! Bang!”. I don’t think they were released onwards 1994.

There where some releases after Almost Unreal, in fact quite a few!

Sleeping In My Car (UK & US Cassette Single)

Sleeping In My Car (Canada Promo)

Crash! Boom! Bang (UK & US Csasette Single)

Fireworks (UK Cassette Single)

Run To You (UK Cassette Single)

Vulnerable (UK Cassette Single

You Don’t Understand Me (UK Cassette Single)

You Don’t Understand Me (Australia Cassette Single)

The Look 95 (UK Cassette Single)

June Afternoon (UK Cassette Single)

Wish I Could Fly (UK Cassette Single)

Hope that helps! :) these are just the ones I have!

Do they still sell cassette singles in Australia and Great Britain??

Speaking of cassette single. I was planning on selling all my Rox ones - I have everything from Dressed For Success up until Vulnerable. Not sure how much to sell them for though?

price?

As I don’t buy singles in the UK now, unless by some minor mircle Roxette release them, I could not tell you if they are still made or not! My local ASDA sells CD Singles and I never see Cassette Singles on offer!

I think the cassette single was the most awful format ever!

Have the vulnerable one... but it’s doesn’t even make a good papar weight!!

Cassette singles ain’t great but you got to remember that they where very popular during the 70’s 80’s & early 90’s! I still remember going into Our Price and spending my hard saved up cash on a copy of Look Sharp! :)

Hehehe... me too Ally!! LS cassette was actually my first original album... fink i still bought it with b-day money!! Lol those were the days... “let’s turn it over and listen to the OTHER side... like it’s 1988”

I never bought a cassette by myself. I had some music cassettes for kids (you know, music from kids TV programs), but my parents bought them for me. But I never bought a cassette with my own money...

I still have about 200-300 cassettes... too much.

So I suppose cassette singles are not sold anymore.

@ally77:

Thank you very much for the cassette single info! Now I’m wondering where I can get my hands on some of those babies...

I have all the cassette singles released in Canada, starting with “The Look”, to “Almost Unreal”... now that I know there was one for “Sleeping in My Car”, I’m going to try to search for it.

Cheers!

@moderators:

Am I posting in the right forum? I’m not selling or swapping anything, just talking formats in general...

@Anarem: There’s also a “Stars” cassette single from the UK and a non-promo Canadian “Sleeping In My Car” cassette single (did you know that it was the #1 selling single in the country for several weeks?)... I bought a tonne of them at the time it was released, I might still have an extra one lying around... if so, I’ll let you know!

There’s also a “You Don’t Understand Me” Canadian promo that repeats the song several times on each side... besides that, there are some maxi cassette singles from South America (“The Look” and “How Do You Do!” for instance)...

@roxtexanet:

Ah, so you’re the guy who kept “Sleeping In My Car” at #1 in Canada for all those weeks! You bought all the singles! :-P

I totally agree that cassette singles weren’t the best format, but it’s just that I have these fond memories of buying them as a kid, saving up my allowance and going on my weekly trip to the record store with my father. Good times!

“There’s also a “You Don’t Understand Me” Canadian promo that repeats the song several times on each side...”

Lol, that is funny!!! You can’t say “Side-A is better than side-B” in this case!!!

@realsugarsexmagic: If you feel like it you can always write me a mail about your cassettesingles you no longer want. I’m interested, cause I don’t have so many myself. :)

I think YDUM was the last Cassingle released in Australia and Stars the last in the UK.

Dave

P.S. Hey realsugarsexmagic I’m also interested in purchasing any Cassingles you choose to sell. Email me at [email protected]

Last time I visited UK was in 1999 and didn´t see any cassettes/cassette singles anymore as I did back in 90/91...

Tower Records/Our Price/HMV was all about cd´s!

To be honest that format was a bit... lame.

@diroia & pr mason. The minute I figure out some prices I will let you guys know. Are they actually worth much money you reckon?

@realsugarsexmagic: Prices is always something one can discuss. It depends on condition, what single it is and how crazy the buyer is of course. So I can’t give you any advise. I can only tell you if I think it is too expensive! ;-) But I’m really looking forward to a mail from you! :-)
