Great chance! "Pearls of Passion" original CD

I’m not selling it, but look at this link:

I think US$ 192 is too much for that CD. I got it some months ago. I traded something else for the original CD release, it was very cheap for me! And it’s in 10/10 condition. I didn’t know it is so expensive now. But maybe not too much, ’cause this seller (vinyltap1) usually has very high prices.
About “Pearls of Passion”: I know there are two original CD releases, with 12 tracks each: one from 1986 and one from 1991, am I right? The one I have has Bristol cardboard (thicker than paper) insert, folded in three. It has the complete lyrics. And the stars (the one behind the name “Roxette” in the front sleeve and the one inside) are not brown like on the 1997 reissue. They are golden, and they have some brightness. Can you tell me it’s from 1986 or 1991?
Thanks!

I’m not going to sell it, anyway. It’s a nice release, and the artwork is even better than on the 1997 re-issue. I still don’t know the copy I have was made on 1986 or 1991. I’m pretty sure the one I have is not the bootleg...

Vinyl Tap are one of the biggest rip offs on eBay! there prices are so OTT.... I bought the original POP CD some years ago on eBay for around £20 - and yes it is an original!!! :) not a fake!

I traded it for a spare copy of Japanese “Rarities” I had (without OBI nor Japanese lyrics sleeve). I think it was a good deal, wasn’t it? :-D

@Staffany: Yeah, I think you did a pretty ok deal there! :-)
I bought my POP original CD for approx. $7.... Well, I actually bought both the one with the star in the front and the star in the background for that price and at the same time. Found both in the same store and the guy there had no clue what he had, hihihi! ;-)

@ chrisjankunas.... I was watching that I intended to outbid you.... but I forgot! :( you got a bargain!
So have you determined if it is the real one yet... :)
Chris, to determine if it’s the real one, look for TOOLEX ALPHA on the cd! :)
There was a whole topic about how to check the real one from the fake on TDR, somewhere...

Fonts on CD are too different if you compare bootleg and original issue. Too different I repeat. Cheers to Kjelle, he always uses modified and unique fonts! :D

Now I am even more confused. My CD (the disc itself) doesn’t look like the original release nor the bootleg! The types are slightly different.
I think it’s the original CD, because the inserts are printed in Bristol cardboard (a thick paper). The star in the front sleeve is behind the Roxette logo. It has the complete lyrics. And the stars, both in and outside the insert are golden (they have some brightness, they are not brown). But the CD doesn’t say THOLEX ALPHA or something like that (on the back, just the number).
Can someone bring some light about this.

Post a pic here and check the innersleeve lyrics of “Surrender”. If it’s a boot, then the font IS different (as they had to reprint a star behind)

Can I send the pic directly to your email? I can’t store the image anywhere. That’s the reason I can’t post a link to the image as you usually do.

OK, but not too big. Hotmail can’t handle more than 1MB attach :)

luckily I have the original one of 1986, that when giving return the CD can be read: TOOLEX ALPHA CDP 7 46459-2 /01 CDM. The fONTS Of the CD IS EQUAL To The COVER ART, The QUALITY OF The PHOTO WAS NOT BOUGHT To NO BOOTLEG, The STAR THIS BEHIND WORD ROXETTE, IN ARG PAYS USD 33.-
USD 192 IS TOO EXPENSIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Staffany. The company, Vinyl Tap, is based in England and sells a lots of Roxette stuff for very high prices on eBay UK. I think that they must make very few sales, but then they make so much money on each item that they can be successful. You can usually buy most of the things they sell on eBay for about 1/4 or 1/5 of the price from private sellers. So I don’t think that your CD is worth $192 if you try to sell it - sorry to tell you that!! ;-) ;-) All the best from Rich
