Does anyone else maybe think...?

... that Half a Woman Half a Shadow was a good enough contender to have been released from Look Sharp!?

(Also was the intro to A view from a Hill used in the Daning episode of saved by the bell? It was Nick onwe day and it sounded similar)

Hi Chris. I like the song a lot, but I have to say that the 4 singles from Look Sharp! were spot on for me :-) I would find it hard to make a case that The Look, Dressed For Success, Listen To Your Heart or Dangerous should have made way for Half A Woman, Half A Shadow. If there were to have been an additional single then my vote would have gone to Sleeping Single, but HAWHAS wouldn’t have been far behind. All the best, Rich ;-)

Rich... LS had 5 singles... u forgot bout Chances!!

*blushes* ahhh true indeed but I always forget that as it wasn’t release in the UK (making poor excuses...:-) :-)

I think Roxette (or was it the record company: Who makes these decisions?)) made a good choice of singles to release from the Look Sharp! album.

I think “Paint” or “Dance Away” should had been the sixth single... and, definetely not “View From A Hill”, that it’s the worst song of “Look Sharp” album...

I agree: “View From A Hill” and “Half A Woman, Half A Shadow” are the weakest songs on “Look Sharp!”. The classy “Sleeping Single” could be a perfect single release too. It’s my favourite track on “Look Sharp!”...

“Chances” doesn’t count at all. It was released only in a few countries. And it was not released on CD either (like the other singles from “LS!”). In addition, it didn’t charted. The “Dancehall remix” is better than the album version. I have downloaded it, but sadly it’s not complete :o(

It would be great if someone can email “Chances” (Dancehall remix) in MP3 to me. Send it to:
[email protected]

Thanx!

View from a hill is really mediocre not to say poor. PAINT would rock on the other hand :)

After the singles, “HAW,HAS” is my favourite song on the album, I love the lyrics, and I love the way they roll off of Marie’s tongue, like a feather on a breeze... (-: Oh, I’m so poetic...

“I love the lyrics, and I love the way they roll off of Marie’s tongue, like a feather on a breeze...”

Me too, i’ve always thought this song had great lyrics. :-)

Paint would’ve been better.

VFAH is fun, albeit in an embarrasing way... with it’s wacky sax contributions and the fact you can’t understand what Per’s actually singing.

HAW,HAS is definatly one of the stronger non-singles... Sleeping single has never excited me much.

I agree all the single choices for Look Sharp! were good.
Half A Woman... isn’t a song to become a single but nice album track. As for virtual choosing of the nrxt single it could be Paint or Sleeping Single or Dance Away.

HAWHAS is very much underrated! Weakest track on LS is VFAH, definitely. All of the rest could have been singles easily.

I really like this song, certainly I do. But it’s of the kind of songs that I prefer not to be released, you know? It’s like a very nice song that just people who is interested in it can know, and I am as lucky as to know it. It makes it special. If you have a huge success I don’t think that all the good songs should be released as singles. The albums have to be good too. An album should be an artwork, with good music and a nice package that you want people to buy... thus, not to give it all away thru the radio.
Do I make any point? :DD

I think “Paint” or “Sleeping single” are better songs than “View from a hill”, that is one of the weakest songs of “LS!”. Anyway, the choice of singles in that case, from “LS!”, was so good :)

Paint was a huge hit here in Brazil in 1990, as well as, other non-single songs from different albums like: I’m sorry, I don’t want to get hurt and From one heart to another.

I asked about the Dancehall remix of “Chances”. I’d like to have it. If someone can send it to me to [email protected] it would be great!

I will appreciate it. Thanx!

i’ve got a copy somewhere, not sure how good it is, but i’ll send it to you :-)

Thanks Rob! We can do it later, when you get online...
