hi

so if really per hits this forum why not There’s something i want to ask Per. In what key did you write or play your wonderful song june afternoon? maybe those who performed and played backup with roxette know it too i really wanna know i tried a lot to find out the correct key but however still no progress i know i play the song in wrong key thats why im askin thanks

any response will be appreciated

Omg, so here it starts... >:/

:D

who knows, maybe HE bothers to reply :D:D:D

i may, or most like may not be Per, but my best guess is Gmajor, which makes your progression options thus:

G, Am, Bm, C, D, Em, F#min7b5

I can’t be bothered working it out, but its undoubtedly Gmajor. Don’t expect any corrections from Per. oam.......or is it....?

and cos I’m nice, I’ll TAB the main riff here, if I abandon this midway thru its cos I am going out for dinner. Its centered on three notes, open G string, then A and B and the lower G played on the D string

[edit] it doesnt work when you hit ’submit’ but basically, use alternate picking throughout and slide between the A and B notes (2nd and 4th fret) on the G string. Use vibrato on the low G if your really feeling that into it. post again if you want more help.

he didn’t bother with Rox official website(s), do you think he will here? :P

He used to answer questions on a semi regular basis on the old haveaniceday.nu website back in 1999. Plus there were the ocassional live web chats.

Those days were fun.

OK, I’m quite obviously not Per, but its still in Gmajor, goonight all. Ha det bra, oam//

hi on a mission

thanks you seem to be a nice guy ill try it and if it doesnt work or something ill post back
keep rockin!

why thankyou. I’m female. Anyone with the album sleeve for Don’t bore us......?

Who did the original June Afternoon guitar part? Was it MP or Isacsson? I lost mine, so I don’t know. oam..

hi onamission

it really didnt work how do you play intro for this song? i didnt try it on an electric guitar what i did on my own is the chorus i know its wrong but still sounds good i think its a capoed song maybe we should put a capo on the 3rd or 1st fret. could you post here how you play the whole song? that would be great

hi juni, I will post the whole song. But I am gonna be a bit busy over the next few days. If you want to play the chords and the main riff then I would ignore the capo. In one of my above posts you have all the chords in the key of Gmajor. The chord progression should not stray outside of that (although at this stage I have not checked.) the riff only contains three notes G, A, B.

I will try and get around to this soon. Sorry to keep ya waiting. oam

[edit] if someone wants to post the lyrics here for me I will do you a basic chord framework ASAP.

hey on a mission
whats taking you soo long im stiil waiting
the chords above arent official by any chance are they?

life in general: I don’t exist to do your donkey work. I have supplied all the information I care to about the riff, its in G major.

The middle 8 is centred around Bm ’There’s a painter....’

Apart from that. I’m busy. Use your own ears/oam/

hi everyone

ok onamission you were not forced to do this thats just a matter of taste so chill what i wanted was only to know how the other people transcribe this song. i use my own chords how to play it besides your chords above really sucked and i was expecting some improvement or something from you if you dont have any better than above.... hm whatever

I didn’t supply you with any song specific chords. I supplied you with the relevant key to get you started. I’m not gonna argue with you because your posting exemplifies your lack of manners, music theory and maturity.

ie, My advice is excellent when it suits you.

Have an extremely nice life, oam

Speakin a lack of manners if someone treats me badly first i do the same You have no right to say something negative about other people you dont know at all Callin me a lack of music theory who the hell are you? Ok i dont wanna waste the space on here, arguing over your ridiculous typing

Juni: on a mission tried to help you.
That it is not exactly what you want, is not her fault.
You can’t expect from other people that they offer all their free time for you, so your question “What is taking you so long” is inapprioate.
You can’t blame her for bad manners, since you were not polite to her as well.

hi sommartij....(what a quaint name)

dont protect her do read what he put there first
It was nothing bad about my experession if she thinks its unpolite shes always got a bad temper and arguis with the people surrounding her
man, we’ve steered the topic off into a tangent
its cos of her

“whats taking you soo long im stiil waiting” doesn’t sound so nice/polite I would say, it sound as a demand to me.

It is difficult to get the tone one says things in a forum conversation but to be honest, the sentence doesn’t sound nice, specially when OAM has no obligation to post the chords, she offered herself to help _but_ whenever she has time.. I would have also reacted like that to your sentence.

but i wouldnt have acted like that

all this over a song . I don’t appreciate personal attacks, at all.

but laying that aside, if, after my university exams are over and I have time, I’ll have a proper look at June Afternoon.

Meantime, please stop speculating about the ins and outs of my temprament and personality. Thanks. oam/

but getting back on topic, I can see now why you think that my original advice on the main riff ’didn’t realy work’

I couldnt get the TAB to look nice on the forum when I hit submit so I abandoned that. I didnt mean just play G A B then low G) and you’re done either. However, if you play the song and use the notes described then you will be able to pick out the riff.

As for the rhythm part in the rest of the song, I haven’t looked at it. But I am CERTAIN its based PRIMARILY in G major, which is a Key that contains the chords listed somewhere above, NOT NESCESSARILY all of them or in THAT ORDER (Im not shouting, I’m just emphasising cos its important) Maybe there are some extras in there, too. I’ll look later.

On Capos. Its better to work the chords out without a CAPO first. Then if you are unsatisfied with the way it plays (ie if it feels akward), you can maybe think about using a capo. Obviously this changes the key of the ’open’ guitar though. So basically, once you have all the requisite chords you can use a capo to adjust fingering positions, Same applies for singular notes too.

Ha det bra, oam.

I don’t like the general tone of this thread so therefore it’s now history.
