I was just wondering if “Wish I Could Fly” was ever broadcasted on MTV or VH1 in 2000 in the USA? Was it played on the radio stations? Were there any promotion posters for DBU US in the stores ? Anything??
Not that it matters so much now, but Im just wondering..

I’ve just found the old website that we used back in 2000 to suport the promotion...
...give me a few minutes and I will upload it for you to see.

I think WICF was aired on the US Top 40 radio show as one of the fastest climbing singles but then..............the promoters dropped it somewhere( oops!).

I do believe in made the Adult Contemporary chart. I’m not sure which position, however. I heard the song a few times on a local station in my area and fell in love with it. That’s what led me to TDR back in late 2000. ;) Has it been that long already? :)

By the way, this roxette.net is a nice site. This is my first time visiting it. Interesting bits about the “Crush On You” Almighty mixes. Such a shame it was never a single and the remixes have never seen the light of day.

i think it was somwhere around the #26-28 spot on the Adult Contemporary chart in the US.
it was broadcasted on ABC as part of the World Music Awards show 2000

Hmm, I read ABC and immediately thought “Lost”! *LOL* This show clearly is bad for my mental health...

I was so sure that this cd would be a success in the USA. Roxette should find a new big label and release this greatest hits again ( nobody bought it the first time anyway!)

I see no reason why Capitol Records couldn’t release it. Then again, they never bothered with ’The Pop Hits.’ So don’t count on anything new in the USA!

Oh yes, there was lot’s of promotion.
A bunch of us set up a website to support Roxette’s promotional drive in the US.
They played several venues across the country and the fans worked hard to request the single (WICF) to be played on 100s of radio stations.
The best person to comment on this would be TDR’s Lars-Erik as he also set up a fan group to support the promotional drive.
Lars?
