Cheers!

I’ll keep my eye out for an Aussie TWATG. I’ve only ever seen two in my life and one I bought. I contacted emi about it and they said they released very very few copies, less than 500 for sure.

Dave

Thnx mate!

I already have one copy of the aussie release, but that one is a promo copy (or actually “sample not for sale”, wich atleast in my world spells the same as a promo copy).

However I still want to get hold of a regular copy of the aussie release.

Cheers!

@doodle

TWATG is long deleted in Italy but I will look for it next time I’m in Rome.

I have found it online here:

http://www.stradivarius.it/leggera/Scheda.jsp?isbn=0724385668623

It’s not a major online shop so I don’t really know it but it seems you can order a copy from them. Also I cannot be sure the CD is printed in Italy...

Don’t you have enough with one copy? Why do you need so much copies of THE SAME? The only difference is where it says “Made in XXX”. The CD looks the same everywhere, and the tracklist is always the same too.

Roxlad > Thanx for the tip, I will check tit out. To see if thay could confirm it is the italian issue and for example not the dutch.

Cheers

Staffany-> Well that is a good question that I am
being asked allot, mostly of non-collectors. I’ll try
to answer it as I always do.

First and far most there is different ways of
collecting. The most common one is that some one
likes an artist and goes to the local record shop
and buys a cd. And after a while buys a few more
albums of that artist.

Secondly there are the music collectors. They
collect the music and want every song or version of
a song that has been recorded, no matter the
format (vinyl cd, bootleg, official release, mp3 etc.)

Thirdly there are the record collectors. They collect
released recordings of an artist.

There is also different ways of collecting records.

You could collect a single format, for example CD
or Vinyl

You could collect recordings from a single country
or continent

You could collect a single artist, like Roxette, or
several artists, like Roxette & Related.

There is of course a large variety of these ways of
collecting.

____________________________

I am what you would call a record collector. In
general I collect Roxette & Related recordings. I
collect all formats (CD, Vinyl, DCC, LD, MD, CASS,
DVD etc,) from all over the world. I collect only
official releases (releases that the artists record
company has released), no bootlegs, mp3s etc.
And I specialise on Per Gessle solo.

__________________________

Why? You ask me.

Well that is kind of hard to explain. It is like any
other type of collecting, Stamps, Beer labels, tin
soldiers, toys, lighters, matchboxes or what ever.

For me my collecting began with Roxette, although
I grew up listening to Gyllene Tider and had a few
of their albums and singles (as many Swedes did in
the 80:s). I bought some Roxette vinyl’s in my
local record shop and realized that there
sometimes where different covers of the “same”
recording. I thought that some where more cool than others. That triggered my interest of collecting
records. I started out by collecting “different
covers”. After a while I when I couldn’t find any
more interesting covers I started collecting
releases sold in Sweden. Then I started collecting
related.

After a while you find your self in a position where
it is hard to find any more items and you have to
decide if to stop collecting or widen your
collection.

I widened mine. I started collecting worldwide
official releases in any format of Roxette & Related.
After a while I realized that I musically liked Per
Gessles solo material much more than I liked
Roxette (which I only had started collecting
because of the covers anyway). There for I started
to focus on getting a complete collection of Per
Gessle solo as possible.

So, here I am with nine items (that I know of) to
go where the TWATG items above is four of them.

I hope this explains how, why and what collectors
why in general are as they are, and me in special.

Cheers!

Australian Promo Copies are just regular albums with a sticker on them, [At least when it comes to emi]. If iwere to get you a non promo version it would be exactly the same, 100%.

Still interested.

Dave

I agree especially when it comes to cd-singles the
regular issue is used in promotional purposes with
a sticker added that “this copy” is intended as a
promo-copy. But this also applies to some albums,
the Aussie TWATG is one of those.

And yet again, you are right that it is 100% the
same, with the exception of the sticker. However
this is in conjunction with the other replies in this
thread. Why would you want more copies of the
same cd when the only thing that is different
is “Printed in xxx or yyy”

I have the same answer to this where the sticker is
the only thing different.

In my opinion the regular issue with the sticker
“sample product not for sale”, in other words
a promo copy, bares its own part of that “albums
world history” It plays a part of how, why, when
and what for the TWATG was officially presented to
the world.

So, to answer your question in short.

Yes it is exactly right, I am looking for a copy of
the regular issue of the Aussie CD without the
“sample not for sale” sticker.

Cheers!

You’re welcome doodle

I have the TWATG CASS Promo # PRO 4192 SWE (correct tracklist) well 1 of 2 I have, willing to sell or swap, drop me a line @ my email [email protected]

@doodle:

What a wonderful and detailed response... I think I know what you’re getting at.

It’s like comic collecting– if a comic book company decides to put out an issue of a comic with 9 different covers, some people would be happy with their variant, others would try to find just the rarest one, while others, the more die hard collectors, would want to get every single one of the 9 variants.

Hey I understand, i’m a collector myself and have around 320 roxette related items, including many doubles, with and without promo stickers.

I’ll keep an eye out for you, and check out the next record fair in my city.

Goodluck

Dave

P.S. Need any other Aussie items.

Ally77-> There is an e-mail waiting for you

Cheers!

Does anyone know of any other official releases from the TWATG era?

Cheers!

//Micael

i have a aussie version of TWATG plus “kix’s promo version from holland and Do you wanna be my baby cd single.....

looking for I want you to know cd single....

what makes he aussie version different from others?

willing to sell.

bomkrash_kix >

Actually, there is nothing “special” about the aussie TWATG.

The only “difference” is that on the flipside of the jewel case just beneth the barcode it says “made in australia” compared to “made in italy” & “made in holland” for example on the italian and dutch release. The same “difference” might also be seen on the disc itself.

So TWATG is actually the same world wide, except for the “made in” statement. And since i collect records the way I do (look above in this thread) I am still interested in getting hold of a copy of the aussie release.

If you want to sell me an Aussie TWATG, pop me an mail at [email protected] and we´ll settle the deal.

Chears!
