Heart/ALone - Roxette/Listen To Your Heart

It is quite interesting how similar both songs are....
Alone, by the group Heart, was included in the 1987 album “Bad Animals”,and Listen To Your Heart...well, we all know 1988, Look Sharp!
mmh
heart as an inspiration???
...It’s wierd.......

maybe inspiration but I hope not plagiatarism (spell?).

Well, it was revealed during the “Sleeping In My Car” trial in London that Roxette had to pay money to Heart because the songs are so similar. Both groups are on EMI, so it was handled very quietly. But Per claims that he had not heard “Alone”, before writing “Listen To Your Heart”, and that it was a coincidence that the songs are so alike.

They really payd money to the group?
Didn’t know that...

But I have to say the songs do sound a bit similar - however Alone lacks “that something”...

They really sound similar. Why? We’ll never know the truth, no one will say ’Yes I stole it’

@animalkingdom Agree about lacking “that something”

However LTYH sounds Per-ish, later he wrote songs similar... hmm... i’d say too similar to it (ex My World, My Love, My Life).

per never paid money to heart thats a long standing rumour and honestly i still don’t think ther 2 songs sound at all alike, if thats the case ac/dc’s hells bells sounds just like love is all

well, if we hear the listen to your heart’s demo,
you’ll notice that it is quite a different thing, i mean, at first the Per’s idea for the song was another.
Maybe, mister persson had something to do with this “copy”. He was the co-producer, maybe he was a Heart fan......who knows....

I always thought that is was Heart’s song “What About Love” that sounds like LTYH in the verses, cause it really does.

only one tinytim can exist.

Hmm, dunno ’bout “What About Love”...

I don’t think at all that it is that much similar.
Very strange they had to pay money for this.

I love that song, but I don’t think they are so much similar. Maybe the arrangements, but not the melody. A lot of songs sounded like this at that time. It can’t be considered as a plagiat.

Yeah, it´s “What about love”

There should be a mash-up of the two!;)

What about love -has a similar guitar riff and chords to Listen to your Heart

Alone - also shares similarities with Spending my Time,
even the lyrics: ” no answer on the telephone...”

And funnily enough, both LTYH and SMT were co-written by Mats Persson! Definitely a Heart fan!

But isnt’t it a rather good thing to see that artist influence each other?
