°°° Roxette on iTunes ...

i was just surfing through different itunes stores and it’s very funny what songs are top downloads in austria, germany and italy from roxette... f.e.:

__ stars xtreme extended mix
__ better off on her own
__ alguin (anyone) *very!! strange*
__ try
__ jefferson
__ waiting for the rain
__ secrets that she keeps
__ it must have been love (christmas ...)

also interesting: why has the u.s. store only “look sharp”, “joyride” and “tourism” and the austrian store f.e. has “pearls of passion”, “room service”, “hand” and “stars ep” ... can anybody explain me, why countries haven’t got the full catalogue or the same albums?

I noticed the same, also with other artists. I was looking for the latest “Chumbawamba” single that’s called ’on ebay’ and it was only for sale in the US store but it seems I can only buy from the Belgium store (cause I’m from belgium :)

Does someone know if it’s also possible to buy from other stores on I-tunes.

well in the united states cbb is offically out of print period so, technically i think there would have to be some agreemnt with emi sweden to get rights to cbb, and well after that anything roxette released was either on edel or usa capitol neother of which i think actually control the distribution rights, i really wish per would open an online roxette music store and leak out their back catalogue over the next few years, this way if per and marie can’t do a whole album ever again, they can still get together now and then and record and put iit out to the fans

It’s all about licences from different EMI offices in different countries. I do understand that Roxette’s US catalogue stops after Tourism (although there was TBH in 2003), but why are are these only partial albums? And why does the european catalogue only start with HAND? I know that it depends on the record companies and not iTunes itself. So Per should check it out and get it right...

didnt’ emi start or say they wewre going to start their own online swervice, in which case they would want propriety over thier artists catalogues?

I doubt that would be a success if only EMI-records were available. iTunes Europe (Germany) has been updated this week:

Gyllene Tider: Konstpaus, Gyllene Tider
Marie Fredriksson: Live! (Äntligen), The Change

Now we have 5 albums by Marie, 3 by Per, 4 by GT but only 3.5 albums and 2 EPs by Roxette. A bit strange!

well you hve to rember per also seems very against the ” digital” revolution himself, so maybe whatever per has exclusive rights to he’s keeping off the internet
