The number of my (copy-protected, but that doesn’t really make a difference to my burners *g*) copy of the single is 8677002, so there must be at least two different versions ;-)
Vixzter said on October 15, 2004 17:02:
well source wouldnt be wrong then ;-) but 2 be honest does it matter? ;-)

Mine is copy protected... and my burner had no problem with it... not had a cd I have had a problem with. :)
ncurran said on October 21, 2004 20:04:
i got my copy in the post today, and it is copy protected, but i-tunes copied it without a problem
ATLTK said on October 21, 2004 21:18:
and why do thry copy protect really?
I can play my cd computer but not in stereo.. hmm why do u think so
ncurran said on October 21, 2004 21:22:
i dont really care...i already had the mp3s of the songs anyway, but i was curious to see if i could copy them, as i’ll want to put the mp3s of the album on my ipod when it comes. The only thing that annoys me about it is that they’ve stick a bit copy-protected sticker on the picture on the front...i want to rip it off, but it would probably damage the sleeve
Vixzter said on October 21, 2004 21:39:
@ncurran: i agree thats the most annoying part, they stick that damn sticker on the front cover and its an arse to get off! infact impossible on my new single without ripping the cover.
stick the stickers elsewhere or bloody make the copy protection decent enough so an ordinary person like me cant bypass it and justify the copy protection sticker
Rich-UK said on October 21, 2004 22:18:
I didn’t get the copy protection of FFF as I wizzed it into my computer immediately and made a copy for myself to play and scratch! Didn’t seem to work at all and I didn’t nothing special... Rich
Vixzter said on October 21, 2004 22:24:
i think the copy protection thing is a big ego thing with record companies.
the sticker might aswell say ’we know what you’re doing so don’t try it’
alot of ppls will think ’woah can’t play that one in my pc’ and never bother simply coz its got a sticker on it
and then theres the collectors who get their really nice stuffed ruined by it ;)

ok vix, whats the secret to circumventing copy protection?
Vixzter said on October 22, 2004 16:33:
well on the latest stuff (GT & Marie) all ive done is held down the left shift key when putting the cd in for the first time (doesnt work if uve already put it in before) to stop it spinning up and then used cdex130 to rip the files to mp3 so that i can pack my little cd away in a nice big cbox with others cd and listen to the songs when i like on winamp. ;)
this also worked with Anastacia’s album (although not on my pc coz i forgot to hold the shift key down and then had a hell of a job removing the stupid annoying little programme that it tried to use everytime i put that cd in)

Actually I had some troubles ripping this single (for the very first time EAC had troubles reading a disc).
But Alcohol took care of it :)
And it’s now a proud member of my Roxette-Creative Zen-collection :)

Most of my stuff copies a okay, even if it carries that copy protection stuff... I never seem to have any problems... :)

Hello:
I’ve ripped the single and that is what happened:
- I hear some scratch sound (like vinyl sound!) on both songs. I’ve ripped the songs in high quality (160kbit/s), but they sound very bad, however.
- All You’ve Gotta Do Is Feel lasts over 6 minutes!!! The fist 4 minutes are the song itself. The remaining time is noise. I tried a couple of times, but I reach the same result every time.
And yes, the stupid sticker is annoying. Luckily it’s a transparent sticker. Why don’t they put the sticker on the back side???

It’s not always software that lets you break CP. Use old CD-ROMs! My great ASUS-34x bought back in 98 ripped everything till Finn Fem Fel! :( They’ve made CP more flexible nowadays... yuk.
Vixzter said on October 22, 2004 18:48:
its more flexible but they still havent qute got it sorted ;) so i wish they wouldnt put the stickers on until it really is copy protected ;)

why don’t you ask the collector about the numbers?
