PEARLS OF PASSION
AURYTE said on October 2, 2004 20:11:
Could someone tell me when PEARLS OF PASSION was re-released??? Thank you.
AURYTE said on October 2, 2004 20:30:
I just saw somewhere that it was re-released on the 3rd of November, so I got confused.
Kiwein1 said on October 2, 2004 20:31:
Well, maybe in some countries it took a week longer..don’t know. :-)
Faezdel said on October 2, 2004 23:16:
@Kiwein:
No all the fans have that “bible”. I don’t have that book, and I don’t want it. It’s pretty expensive, and I prefer spent the money in cd’s, no in a book.
Kiwein1 said on October 3, 2004 06:06:
I don’t expect everybody to have it - I was just asking! :-)
And you’re right: it’s quite expensive!!
AURYTE said on October 3, 2004 06:31:
Then I have another question: about what bible you are talking about. Is it The Look For ROXETTE?
Mari said on October 3, 2004 09:48:
No, bible for Roxette-fans is of course The Look for Iron Maiden.
Caddy said on October 3, 2004 12:06:
Sorry, what bible do you mean ? I haven’t heard about it. Could you tell me ?
DeLuk said on October 3, 2004 14:08:
Please perhaps we could do without the irony/sarcasm? :(
Yes, AURYTE and Caddy, that which people around use to call “the bible” is indeed the book “The Look For Roxette”. :)
Faezdel said on October 3, 2004 16:59:
Hey: I have ordered “The Look for Iron Maiden” from Amazon. Now I see it was just a joke!!!
I’m kidding, don’t worry about that. But I still think that “Bible” is too expensive, even used. I’m not very sure about the contents of the book. But it’s more enjoyable to buy cd’s. If that book just contains long lists of catalogue numbers and description, it sucks.
DeLuk said on October 3, 2004 17:11:
Well, “The Look For Roxette” is actually “a bit” more than only lists of catalogue numbers and descriptions. :) Discographies, tourgraphies, biographies, inumerous illustrations, all of this is among the contents. :) Indeed, a wonderful piece of work to thank for, by Robert Thorselius. :)
Faezdel said on October 3, 2004 20:01:
Well, I don’t know. I don’t care much about catalogue numbers because I have one copy for each release (cd or maxi cd) and I’m not interested in collect them from different countries.
Maybe I will buy that book in 10 years, when it is cheaper and my cd collection is completed...
If you have that book, can you tell me something?
My “Joyride” cd was made in Holland, but in the spine you can read “Joyride - Dont bore us, get to the chorus!” I don’t know why!
Cat. # 7960482.
Thank you!!!

“Joyride - Dont bore us, get to the chorus!”
It was just a phase used on the single cover... of course later to become the GH album name :)
DeLuk said on October 4, 2004 15:27:
Well, why that phrase was used on the album “Joyride”, I don’t know. :) On “The Look For Roxette” it reads: “On the spine of the album the phrase Don’t Bore Us - Get To The Chorus is printed as a sort of subtitle. This slogan is borrowed from the Brill Building in New York city where song writers Leiber & Stoller used to work.”
Then again, and about the phrase in itself, well, back in ’95, during the promo tour for Roxette’s Greatest Hits album “Don’t Bore Us - Get To The Chorus!”, Per mentioned, in an interview here: “Well, “Don’t Bore Us - Get To The Chorus!” comes from the Brill Building, which was a house, in the 60’s, in New York, where lots of songwriters were sitting around and wrote lots of songs together, like Gerry Goffin, Carole King, Neil Sedaka for instance. And their motto was “don’t bore us, get to the chorus”, so when we did the Greatest Hits album with Roxette we felt it was, it summed up what our singles are all about, which is, you know, hits, and choruses, so, “Don’t Bore Us - Get To The Chorus!” is like, the perfect thing.” And this is the much I know why for it appearing on Roxette’s Greatest Hits. :) Now, on “Joyride”, beats me. :)
Also, and back to “The Look For Roxette” and its contents, how could I possibly have forgotten about part of the best, the exclusive EP with 4 elsewhere unreleased demos (“Stay”, “I Do Believe”, “Looking For Jane” and “Waiting For The Rain”)!!! :)

Hey DeLuk:
I have the Dutch 4 track maxi single “Spendin My Time”, and the track list on the sleeve is altered:
a: Electric dance remix
b: Album version
c: The Sweet Hello The Sad Goodbye
d: Electric dance remix instrumental
The actual track list is the one on the cd:
a: Album version
b: The Sweet Hello The Sad Goodbye
c: Electric dance remix instrumental
d: Electric dance remix instrumental
Does “The Look For Roxette” say something about that? Does someone have the same mistake on that maxi-cd?
Thanksssssssssss!
DeLuk said on October 4, 2004 20:52:
Hey Faezdel. :) Well, regarding “Spending My Time”, and again quoting directly from “The Look For Roxette”, it is mentioned there that: “The first edition of the CDS from The Netherlands was released with a misprinted inlay where the tracklisting of the songs was incorrect but when the mistake was discovered they released a CDS with a correct inlay.” Also I may add that this CDS is rated with 3*, whereas the CDS with the correct inlay is rated with 2*, regarding how rare each item is. (The rating goes from 1*, for items which are easy to find, to 10*, for true rarities.) Which is the same as saying that you actually have more of a raritiy than you would if you had the edition with the correct inlay (as me, for instance)! :)
AURYTE said on October 4, 2004 21:01:
And how much does The Look For ROXETTE cost. Is it still available somewhere??? Please, no sarcasm this time.
DeLuk said on October 4, 2004 22:03:
@ Auryte: check these articles, hopefully it helps?... :)

The book isn’t available at the Fanclub’s Fanshop anymore, at the Roxette Fan Organisation I don’t know, since I haven’t been able to enter their site since long weeks (anyone happens to know why?). At Premium Publishing’s site it still appears available to order > http://www.premiumpublishing.com/eng/products/roxette.html (the price they have there is 43 EURO). Or you can try with Robert directly (check for his e-mail address in the article above).

Well DeLuk, maybe I have a “rarity” cds, but I don’t like that wrong inlay!!!
“DeLuk”, I don’t know your name, your age and gender. Where are you from??? “I know your bussines but I don’t know your name!!!”
Anyway, thank you for all the info you gave to me.
DeLuk said on October 5, 2004 13:14:
@ Faezdel:
1. Profile on. :) (On addition to it I’m 27.)
2. I only mentioned the “rarity rate” of your CDS just out of curiosity. :) Though I must confess I wouldn’t be too happy (rarity or not!) with having a faulty inlay for my CDS either...
3. You’re most welcome! Glad I could be of help. :)

Don’t you own the “bible”? :-)
