BEST CHANCES...THAN PER?

I definitely think that Marie has such a greater appeal in the music world than Per...
I’m saying it, coz most of the successfull songs from Roxette are performer by her, and here in Brazil, many non-roxers think that Roxette is actually HER name.
A solo album totally Marie’s would have a brighter mark...but dunno if as bright as a Lennoxx’ album for example...anyway, I’d more easily expect her songs to get to the radios here than if Per released a new solo english album...what would be for sure, totally awesome....I’d really love to hear a new english solo work by Per in 2005...that could make a petition from us, couldn’t it??

Couldn’t have said it any better - on the one hand I really really look forward to her new album, on the other hand I am indeed frightened that her sound might have changed, since I simply LOOOVE her way of making music, more than Per’s...so I hope she sounds as she ever has done.
But you’re absolutely right - people usually don’t deal with her music and therefore don’t find a way to it. It’s a pity..

Maybe the sound is popular - I just wanted to point out that it isn’t that Per-Gessle-Bubblegum-Sound. And that you have to FEEL her music, it’s much more “work” than listening to Gessle...well, I should go to sleep, too... :-P

Roxette’s biggest hit “Joyride” and breaktrough hit “The Look” are mainly performed by Per. (also lots of vocals in big hits like “Dangerous”, “The Big L.”, “How Do You Do”,...)
When people know Joyride and The Look are Roxsongs, then how can they not know Roxette also has a male singer??? I never understood.
I’m not saying Marie is not important in Roxette’s story, she’s as important to me as Per is. (LTYH, SIMC, SMT, ...)
I think Roxette would never have become this big without Per or without Marie. Roxette just needs both Per and Marie, so Roxette can be it stands for.

if we talk about music, mmmm though the TWATG singles were great, a ballad made by Marie has more possibilities than Kix, DYWBMB or IWYTK... lets imagine ballads such as TRO, or I En Tid Som Vår (in english) it could be the discovery of a new style...

And why does there have to be competition between Per and Marie as solo Artists, Who Cares. TWATG was a friggin fantastic album, but it did JACK in English territories, even though it got great reviews. Why Maybe because they attached Roxette to it, Probably cos Per didn’t do heaps of Promotion and the fact that all three videos were crap and he didn’t make the best single choices.
That doesn’t deny the fact that it is a great album. And I know Marie’s will be great also, but I don’t expect it to supremely outsell TWATG which sold 500 000 copies worldwide and appealed to wider audiences. Probably because Marie Fredriksson is not That well known, and her music [Well her Swedish music anyway], is not very commercial.
Infact the only things she has going for her is the roxette name and its fans that will buy the album, the fact that it’s been released at the end of a horrible sickness which did receive a lot of press at the time of it’s discovery, and finally becasue it’s her first english solo album, [Bootlegs aside].
All I know is I can’t wait to get my Hot little hands on that album.

In end the most important thing SHOULD ONLY be the pleasure of having her music into our lives again ... it does not matter the success, the sales, the public reaction, nothing ... feeding this ridiculous pop music commercial joke-circus-world is not what i personally am not interested at all! And why should anyone be? Isn’t there a chance to start to think and make this whole thing something different and more significant to either the music itself and the music listeners?
Anyway ... Marie has got a new album, so just let embrace it and swimm deeply into it in order to find her out and understand her as much as we can ... that is what music should be about from the very first place! Then enjoy it for as long as it can be ...
Better than Per? Per better than Marie? WOW have we been Roxette fans all this time or what have we been? Is there a name for that cause I don’t know really? Both are brillant and unique in their very own way ... focus on that singularity and you will love them both equaly ... and we should somehow Roxette has made it possible all these years so far ...

You´re forgetting about the fact, that his wonderful, witty and nice songs are the reason, why they were and are so popular! But back to the real topic: I think it depends a lot on the type of music on the album! After all, people might be used to her voice, but not to her songs...
