Which types of balads do you prefer? Dark, great, orchestric or sweet, boyband-ish
WICF, LTYH, QOR, YDUM or Salvation, Anyone, MATAH, Vulnerable
I love these first, so score is
1 : 0
for dark, great, orchestric ballads.
And what about you?

I agree with AURITE: dark, great, orchestric ballads. So 3:0. I wonder where did they go, these ballads. I want to hear the new ones!
And I like Vulnerable too :)

I have to say the Salvation is inspired and not boy-band like!. I’m not sure that some of the ballads fit into either of those categories.
I would say that I prefer the ones that are less power-ballads, and more sentimental ballads - Salvation, ITYNTTGH etc rather than LTYH, IMHBL etc
ciao

I always thought Salvation and Anyone ARE dark ballads.. mmh!

There we go! ;-)
Personally, I like almost all of them. But it’s defintiely time for another big majestic powerballad on Roxette’s comeback album. It’s been a long time...

I like more the first ones, too. My all times favourite is “Fading like a flower”.
Maciek said on September 16, 2004 17:17:
Well, in my case, I prefer ballads like: weight of the world, everyday, never is a long time, what’s she like, see me, frist girl on the moon, things will never be the same (toursim ver.). Small, quiet songs

Great dark balads writes Marie. I en tid som var, Mellan sommar och host, Mild varm var, Herren ber..., Den dar Novemberdan, Det regnar igen, Waiting For The Rain and more. According me, Den Standiga Resan and I en tid som var are very melancholic albums. I like them. So much rains, loneliness, dark Novembers. Perfect. It´s perfect music for short dark rainy November days. I´m waiting for Marie´s new album, hope that it will be released this fall, October or November.

euh... in wich category belongs “See Me”, that’s my favourite balad.

I like MY WORLD, MY LOVE, MY LIFE, AND VULNERABLE. I think FROM ONE HEART TO ANOTHER is just perfect. Also, the acoustic version of church of your heart. I think in order to be Roxette fans, we have to have a little bit of a romantic heart. Almost forgot....SO FAR AWAY.
ncurran said on September 16, 2004 20:16:
roxreporter, i love “see me” too, one of my favourite roxette songs. But in many ways its more of a Marie song than a roxette song, maybe thats why i love it so much....ive always been more of a fan of marie than per.

It depends... I like FADING LIKE A FLOWER and A THING ABOUT YOU & EVERY DAY, and they are totally different.

My favorite ballads are:
1. The rain
2. Crash! Boom! Bang!
3. Every day
Three ballads that move me. Great ones.

Power ballads like WICF and LTYH are always fantastic, as well as Vulnerable

So Far Away (Tourism version)
Never Is A Long Time
Here Comes The Weekend
I love the acoustic ballads, very delicate, sweet and tender. And I also like the big Orchestral ballads (WICF)

A Thing About You is just perfect!!!!!
Also I love WICF; FOHTA; Silver Blue.....they’re all good, that’s why I love Roxette!!!
Roxer93 said on September 26, 2004 06:08:
I prefer the big powerful sounding ones like Things Will Never Be The Same (Joyride version) and Shadow Of A Doubt. I also adore ATAY.
AURYTE said on September 26, 2004 07:00:
I really doubt that THINGS WILL NEVER BE THE SAME (JOYRIDE) version is a ballad. The same with RUN TO YOU. On BALADAS EN ESPANOL it was a ballad, but on THE POP HITS - pop song :)
coyboyusa said on September 26, 2004 14:03:
salvation isnt a power ballad? since when? and its far from dartk the song is all about hope and inspiration
you crashed by the gate captured my fate salvation
it almost reads like a sequel to queen of rain
as for my faves, hmm well definatelty salvation, i was so lucky, milk n toast , qor, watercolours which it seems everyone missed
coyboyusa said on September 26, 2004 14:05:

on and entering your heart is a grerat ballad...
and btw breathe is a powerballd yes they do still make em even if they aren’t singles lol
RobS said on September 27, 2004 08:55:
i can’t decide, i love all of their ballads, from the strong power ballads like TWNBTS and FLAF to the slow and mellow Never is a long time and the heart shaped sea, music for for every mood :-P
one point either way!!

Honestly, I am not being facetious. I think “Love Is All (Shine Your Light On Me)” and “Go To Sleep” are eminently appropriate songs – uplifting, melodious, respectful, romantic and joyful – to play at a memorial service for someone who has died. I think that, when I myself kick off, I will instruct that these two fine songs be played at the very brief, short-and-solemn memorial service that occurs immediately before the great big party starts !! Barbecue, beer and Roxette! Rats, I only wish I could be there.

I LOVE THE BIG BAD BALLADS me, :-D need a massive one on next album if the do one.
AURYTE said on September 16, 2004 10:14:
I also prefer the first ones and VULNERABLE. Somehow last years PER writes quite bright lyrics to the ballads, with the exeption of WISH I COULD FLY, COOPER, MY WORLD, MY LOVE, MY LIFE, A THING ABOUT YOU.
