Finally!!! BMG is re-releasing all 8 Eurythmics albums in the UK on November 1, 2004!!! Also, a new greatest hits album will be released (Eurythmics Ultimate Collection) and a NEW DVD!!!

Tha 8 albums have been digitally remastered and will contain extra tracks including b-sides, remixes and demos. The albums are going to be available in both a deluxe digipack edition as well as in standard jewel cases.

No information on the DVD yet ;)

so let me get this straight someone excited about the eurythmics putting out what is technically a 3rd greatest hits album and their 2nd greatest hits dvd who need all the over kill?

ow i cant wait i love them me :-) They have only released one GH album then in 1999 there first GH was promoted again as they collected a brit award ( ps i was there).

I cant wait for annie lennox best of album either :-) she is my fave. next to marie. i have a thing for women with short blonde hair lol.

Oh cool, this will make a good Christmas present for my dad... :)

Happy birthday to me
Happy birthday to me...

amen!! i was wondering whether the re-releases were still happening... anyways I’m sooo excited; dying to hear In the Garden... and that’ll mean that I’ll give my vinyl a rest for a while (as i’ve got all their 80’s albums on lP except ITG)...

BTW... weren’t there rumours about new recordings/album?

Coyboy—NOT technically a greatest hits: more akin to a box set of remastered albums include rarities, demos, & b-sides.

And YES! EXCITEMENT! I’ve been waiting for this for some time. Finally something to look forward to (musically) this year.

A new DVD would be great. I’d love for them them to issue the Revenge tour concert video on DVD. The reggee version of Right By Your Side beats the album version anyday. (My copy was stolen ages ago along with the video album for We Too Are One which had videos for My My and Revival along with concert footage, interviews and Annie singing a traditional Scottish ballad while Dave plays guitar.)

The release has been postponed... AGAIN!

Read this short interview from ethrill:

Ino Hillert: “Two years ago you spoke about plans for a compilation album of 22 rare and unreleased Eurythmics songs. Then last year you supervised the remastering of 8 Eurythmics albums that were decorated with a number of very mixed bonus tracks and few unreleased ones spreaded among the albums. Now this autumn those albums have been postponed for the 2nd time, missing the 2nd christmas business in a row and disappointing many, many fans. So maybe you could comment on the whole things?”

Dave Stewart: “Well, it’s a sort of dispute between Eurythmics and BMG and ..., well, if we do it, we wanna do it properly. We wanna make sure that there’s a big plan and we’re all on board with the plan so it reaches as many places around the world as possible.”

BMG....EMI....related??? ;)

its starting to look that way vix I know bmg has had alot of upheval lately, and I wonder if annie is really onboard or not :)

And to think Nov 1 is only a few days away. What a present it would have been. Let’s just hope we’ll have these remasters in our hands by Nov 1 of 2005.

The second part of Dave´s interview is now online at http://www.ethrill.net :

Ino Hillbert: But what do you think about the idea to re-release ALL Eurythmics songs and videos that were so far only available on vinly or video tape, but this time on cd and dvd?

Dave Stewart: I think that all should be done but there’s no point in doing it without a great plan because nobody would know they existed besides the fans. You need the labels round the world to have a plan in place that helps people get aware of that. Otherwise it comes out and nobody knows and that’s the end of it. We want good quality copies of everthing but it’s very difficult because people who worked at RCA don’t work there anymore and they put the things in a box which then went to some warehouse. And the video companies that made the very early Eurythmics videos don’t exist anymore like my brothers’s company “Oil factory”.
