What foreign languages can Marie and Per speak?

*FACTS*
Well, they DO speak English ;)
They don’t speak Spanish.

What about other languages? Did P&M say anything about?
Probably Per once had been learning French? He used this language few times in the lyrics: ’toujours l’amour’-words in Sleeping Single and ’deja vu’ in June afternoon. Or it were only well-known idioms without any connection to learning French?
BTW I can’t find any other foreign for Per language (not English or French) being used by him.

To speak a language and say something in a different language are two completely different things!
...English I guess...

I think they learned german as 2nd foreign language in school. And Per goes for holidays in France frequently, so he’ll speak a bit as well.

I learned spanish as second language in school, but I can’t speak spanish...
I think they only can swedish and english...

I´ve read at the swedish biography that Per had german as second language, but he had only a “två” in german, it´s like a D-E in the english marks. ;)
So I think he can maybe a bit understand in german, and he do it, I see it in much german interviews, but I don´t think he can really speak it. :-
Understand a language and know some words in the foreign language, and really speak the foreign language are big different things. ;D

Marie can understand a lot of Danish since her dialect (skånsk) is very similar to Danish. But Per finds it hard to understand and sometimes Marie has translated for him in interviews! I heard Per understands a bit of Dutch too. Marie loves to say she can speak Spanish and then say “Un dia sin ti!” but that seems to be all she knows apart from Hola and Grazias!

Our Danish lecterer at University said that thos three Scandinavian languages (Swedish, Danish & Norwegian) are quite similar. So ROXETTE should understand at least a bit. Maybe not to speak, however.

Nox, you are wrong.
Marie doesn’t speak spanish, even little, but now it isn’t a big problem. 21st century... Hundreds of rehearsals and the cd is ready :)

In my opinion, both ROXETTE should understand Danish and Norwegian. Maybe THEY speak a little bit of German???
