I know that it is only becuase they haven’t releasedanything since TPH, but I just wanted to check whether Roxette were with EMI or Capital in the UK? Neither of them have roxette listed as their artist - can’t even find capital’s website...
one ever six months I do this - and search the great ether for Roxette info, just tosee if anything has changed. And well it has, Roxette seem to have been removed. Even the www.emi.se site seems to have chnaged and dropped any reference to Roxette.
I see ’em dark clouds-a-forming!

Roxette were omitted from the EMI’s UK website some years ago. Even before the last of their UK releases so don’t worry to much about that.
Their website is a good reflection of whats popular in the UK and sadly Roxette have long left the British conciseness (save for a limited number of diehard fans).

Did you search at http://www.emirecords.co.uk ?
There are very few artists listed directly, mainly (or only?) UK artists. But if you go to “catalogue” you find Roxette easily!
For a full list of EMI websites go to http://www.emigroup.com/links/index.html

OK, Roxette arent listed in the Artists section of either www.emirecords.co.uk or www.emimusic.co.uk ...i did find all their releases in the catalogue section of the first website, but i dont suppose that really means much, cos even if they werent signed to the label anymore the back catalogue would still exist.

the outdated bio on the emi australia site is interesting:
ROXETTE:
Let’s just say that the name means different things to different people.
For some it means a phenomenon. Swedish pop export. Statistics and money. A monument with sales of 38 million albums and 15 million singles around the world to its merit. Four #1-singles in the USA 1989-91. Numerous hits in the rest of the world. Two world tours 1991-95. Hit albums like “Pearls Of Passion” (1986), “Look Sharp”! (1988), “Joyride” (1991), “Tourism” (1992) and “Crash! Boom! Bang!” (1994) - not forgetting the equally successful singles collection “Don’t Bore Us - Get To The Chorus” (1995) and the Spanish-sung smash “Baladas en Espanol” (1996).
For others - like millions of fans all over the world - Roxette means Per and Marie. Gessle and Fredriksson. Two voices. Two hard working and determined talents, united by a stubborn vision to reach out with their own warm and melodic brand of pop music. And who did it.
But that’s history. Today Roxette means 1999, fourteen new songs and the brilliant new album “Have A Nice Day”. Some say it’s the strongest album Roxette has ever done. Some say it contains five singles. Some say it captures everything you ever liked about this band, but in a new and captivating way.

Mmmmm Roxette’s record label in the UK...... do they need one?? as EMI did next to nothing for RS and only slightly better for TBH and naff all for TPH ;) I think I promoted TBH better with my little fly posters on bus stops.
