Yeah, I’d really like to know what it says too. I think the title means that things might be over for Roxette or something in that way.
Translation? someone? please :):):)

It’s just the title (It Is Over Now - For Roxette)... I don’t think we should panic now. Per says he is not sure if he has the energy to carry on with Roxette. He didn’t call it the end of Roxette, he simply doesn’t have the energy now to go on a world tour with Roxette again. This is quite understandable right after this summer tour with GT.
pietROxette said on August 17, 2004 11:33:
Not really. Per already said he’d take a few years rest but also mentioned that it’d be fun to write Roxette songs again. So that’s not the end of the world for sure.

I think there will be official statement about split up tomorrow :(((((
Kiwein1 said on August 17, 2004 14:23:
Well, I was quite sure about GT not doing anything more than this last tour.
But I really had hoped that Roxette would last longer, anyway...we have to wait and see..and there’s nothing else we can do.
Emil__BG said on August 17, 2004 14:51:
it’s understandable that he is tired..
but conecting the last concert of GT with the end of Roxette... there no point at all..
it’s even rude!!! i hate yellow papers!!!!!
one wrong headline goes to the radio.and so on and so on.. it’s a news now!!
maybe this will lead to split ....
but look carefully in the article–did Per say–“it’s over”..
do you think that he will choose exactly that day to say that????
The day before last concert, before the day that must be THe Great ,the day in which he invited whole town to see GT concert?
so to be aks about it on the concert of GT??
so nobody pay attention to the concert and to be concentrate upon the rumors??

Maybe he needs some time to think about it. Let’s hope our prayers are in good hands tonight!

You know I have not seen TDR so busy.... where did everyone spring from? ;)
RoxHard said on August 17, 2004 22:41:
Straight from the GT forum... wanting us to feel bad!
I understand if Per wants a break... I think we’ll all manage to keep ourselves busy!
But I hope Per doesn’t think that he should have to ’polish’ up the next Roxette album, and then after making this ’raw’ record with GT - he won’t feel like ’polishing’ up the next album and might just give up on Roxette altogether. As for the next Rox album, if there is one, I want it raw (She Doesn’t Live Her Anymore)! I want it rocky (Staring At The Ground/Pay The Price)! I want it acoustic (Never Is A Long Time/So Far Away)! I want it to be everything Room Service wasn’t!
Anyone agree?
Hotblooded said on August 18, 2004 05:10:
Yeah RoxHard I agree!
If they did another album I want something real and raw, something basic and not over produced and cold like the last two albums!
Otherwise I’m not that fussed on a come-back anyway!
RobS said on August 19, 2004 10:27:
RoxHard, love your ideas! I’d love to have that on a new album if there ever is one.
As far as Roxette is concerned, Per deserves his time off, he’s been working for so long its understandable. Marie needs all the time she wants, if she feels like doing something after i’ll be as happy as the next Rox fan, if not i’ll just listen to all the great songs they’ve released.
One thing that i don’t understand, is him saying that he doesn’t have the energy to do a world tour with Roxette again etc.... They haven’t done a world tour since ’95 and ever since HAND, no one outside of Europe and Sth America ever really took any notice of them. They don’t have a deal in the US, Australia/Cananda/UK doesn’t promote them. Basically what i am saying is, if they did continue later, what would change?
Juanita said on August 19, 2004 11:27:
Actually Room Service was perfect and Staring at the Ground is one of the WORST Roxette’s songs ever...I don’t like acustic version of So Far Away either..it sound like a drunk karaoke song...
Sorry...
but I want another
REAL SUGAR!
RoxHard said on August 19, 2004 11:32:
I don’t see how anything Marie sings could be classed as ’a drunk karaoke song’.
RobS said on August 20, 2004 08:15:
i really like staring at the ground, the song just moves along really nicely, and before you know it its finished. :-)
Anarem said on August 20, 2004 10:31:
Room Service was a very weak album– I think I gave it maybe a couple of spins, at most.
Kiwein1 said on August 20, 2004 11:27:
The production of RS is rather bad - I guess it should sound PERFECT, but it just sounds poor and crappy. It’s kinda under-overproduced. ;-)
AURYTE said on August 20, 2004 12:20:
First we should change the topic one more ROXETTE album. I also think that STARING AT THE GROUND is a great song. Though I understand that it suit single format... But I wish ROXETTE to record the album with JOYRIDE energy and TOURISM & CRASH!BOOM!BANG! magic in lyrics.
Hotblooded said on August 20, 2004 23:35:
I have to say a lot of the songs on HAND and RS were quality songs but I don’t like the production on them at all! I feel like they have no heart. On CBB there is a real feel there the songs and the album all work together, it actually feels like an album so that when I put it on now I can still really enjoy it. I can’t say the same for HAND or RS. Actually the funny thing is that when I first got CBB I was quietly disappointed but it grew on me over time and then became my strongest Roxette album. HAND and RS were the opposite I loved both at first but they died a quick death ;)
I think there is something about ’real’ instrumentation as opposed to machines that gave roxette that warmth on CBB that they lacked on the last two.
enough ramblings....:)
AURYTE said on August 17, 2004 07:52:
Sorry. could someone translate this article. I understand the only thing that PER and MARIE meet each other sometimes. But I don’t get the point about ROXETTE.
