(Dunno if it’s offtopic, if yea, pls. move it in the appropriate area.)
Just wanted to let you know that ROXBYTES is back in business: at the moment 300 files are waiting for you on the site, including some previously unavailable content. More downloads are on the way soon :-)

Hej Pietro!
I wanted to download the restored version of the MTV Unplugged but I get an ’ID does not exist’ message....
purplemedusa said on August 15, 2004 17:23:
I seem to be getting that with the “Dressed for success” bootleg (theone with LS concert)... mmm, curious!!

Got a mail from Pietro explaining this;
“As you can see, the links
on the pages are not direct links to the files themselves, but links
with an ID. It means that all downloads have a unique ID - this way I
can see how many times a files has been downloaded. With the last
update
there were links from ID1 to ID 361. However, when someonoe first
reported this problem, I went to check it and seen on the admin panel
that there were IDs from 1 to 147 only. This is why if you clicked on a
link with an ID above 147, you got an error message saying “this ID
doesn’t exist”. I really don’t have the faintest idea how on earth it
happened. Maybe someone has hacked the link admin and deleted the IDs.
But who’d do that and why? And why only links above ID 147? Also it is
possible that there was a problem with the webhosting service and they
had to restore the content from a previous backup. But if that’s the
case, the html pages should have been old as well, however, they were
up-to-date. So I really don’t know what happened. Anyway, I’ve created
the links again, so all downloads are now available. I really hope this
problem won’t happen again (although now I’ve created a backup of the
link admin database, so in such a case I can restore it).”
All seems to be fine now!! Thanx sooo much Pietro!! You’re a star x 1000000!!!

Hi Pietro, I’l like to ask you if is possible to use download manager for roxbytes’ files? I tried to download the video thru flashget but it only writes me some link, not the video. But when i tried to download it like “save target as...” it worked, but in a short time the connection was broken. Thanx,Kecho

It works with FlashGet, don’t care about the links with the IDs, when you start downloading, it’ll redirect to the file.
