Since Roxette's latest single "Radio" was officially released in Canada, Canada's biggest music network Much Music has added the video to its Muchmore playlist where it's at #10 at the moment. This is huge.

"Charm School" #1 in Germany

Body:

Charm School has entered the official German albums chart at #1! This is according to a press release titled "Roxette succeed in splendid comeback" by German market research institution Media Control which was published this morning. Charm School is the third Roxette album to top the German charts after Joyride (1991) and Tourism (1992). Also, "She's Got Nothing On (But the Radio)," has jumped 10 places compared to last week, now charting at #12.The real surprise however is Charm School not hitting number 1 in Sweden, making it the only Roxette studio album alongside Pearls of Passion not to manage full chart control at home. Worse still, "She’s Got Nothing On (But the Radio)" has yet to make an appearance on the Swedish singles chart. Makes you wonder if Sweden even knows their biggest music export of the last 3 decades has returned. eBay and Krischan contributed to this article.

Roxette's iTunes sales solidify chart success in Europe

Body:

In the first weekend of its release, Charm School managed to reach the upper regions of the iTunes Album charts in Europe. The new album made it to the Top 10 in not less than 11 countries. Besides that, even A Collection Of Their 20 Greatest Hits! pops up in the charts in Germany (at #10) and Austria (at #8). By anyone's standards, this appears to be a great comeback!

Brazilian site jumps the gun and puts single on sale over one week early

Body:

Brazilian portal UOL has somehow jumped the gun and made "She's Got Nothing On (But the Radio)" available for purchase today, even though the international release date is scheduled for January 7th. A fan browsing UOL (which is extremely popular in Brazil) discovered this fact late Thursday evening (early Friday morning in Brazil) and purchased the song. Other fans in Brazil were then made aware of the availability of the song on UOL via a post on Orkut's (similar to Facebook) "Roxette Community" and by middle-of-the-night phone calls to each other. How exactly this happened is unknown, but apparently there was either a breakdown in communication between EMI Brazil and UOL, or there was a programming error on UOL's side, as the site does cite 2011 as the release year.UPDATE: EMI Sweden contacted EMI Brazil about this mistake, and they in turn contacted UOL. The single is no longer available (until the proper release date). EDITOR'S NOTE: Obviously, this was a mistake. It's a mistake that – if not contained – has the potential of doing harm to Roxette's sales chart success, as a coordinated release has more impact and much effort has been put into marketing strategies. We urge fans in Brazil (and now sadly elsewhere) to resist the temptation to "share" the song with others. We strongly believe that having waited this long for Roxette to make a complete return, that all of us can and should wait until the song's official release date. We implore you not to think you are doing someone a favor by "sharing" the song with them, because in doing so... you are doing Roxette a disfavor. It should also be noted that in writing this story and editoral, we became aware that the team behind RoxetteBrazil made a similar appeal. —LEO

Marie pushes Roxette into prestigious Australian Countdown!

Body:

Roxette, in particular Marie Fredriksson, has made the 'Hummingbird 100". The countdown is an all female list and is run in conjunction with Australian Music Channel "MusicMax".Four Roxette tracks made the list, "It Must Have Been Love" (#27), "Listen To Your Heart" (#53), "The Look" (#82) and "Joyride" (#94). Pink, meanwhile, claims the most spots of any female artist with seven tracks inside the 100. Beyonce, Roxette and Madonna all have four and Blondie, Rihanna and Alanis Morissette have three apiece. The poll results have been picked up by several Australian online news sites including Queensland’s Courier Mail.

Swedish charts show Tracks celebrates 25 years on the air

Body:

The charts show Tracks has been broadcast on Swedish Radio P3 weekly for 25 years. Kaj Kindvall has been the host of the show all the way from September 8, 1984. Tracks celebrated this milestone last weekend when the show aired its 999th episode.

For Roxette fans this is interesting because on the Tracks all-time chart, Roxette is at #3 when the listeners' votes are summed up. Per Gessle is at #87 and Gyllene Tider at #96. Marie Fredriksson did not make the Top 100.
